Title: Enhancing the Hunt for the Golem
Post by: Gulix on October 08, 2015, 02:37:44 PM
So, we played the first part of the "Hunt for the Golem" mini-campaign. It went well (except for my warband ...) and the scenario was nice with the amount of cadavers.
One of us found the Notes on the Golem, and got XP for that.

But ... that's all.
Those Notes don't grant any other bonus than some XP.

Did someone already had ideas to enhance this mini-campaign by putting more links between the scenarios. I would like to try to come up with something in the like :
Scenario 1 -> Object found that helps for scenario 2
Scenario 2 -> Information valuable for scenario 3
Scenario 3 -> Grand Finale !

So, I'll give you my ideas when I put them on paper. But Brainstorming is allowed here !

When we played we realised that the notes were actually worse than the treasure so we decided they were also a Control Construct Scroll.

This gives the person who wins them a small advantage in the next two scenarios and is thematic.

That's a simple and nice addition, indeed.
I was currently thinking of a more 'strategic' bonus, as the Notes hold some informations about where to find the golem, how to "meet" him.
But the idea of a Control Golem Scroll could fit for the second scenario (who studied the golem the most).

So, I came up with the following : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygkete5pn5wfu9c/HuntForTheGolemExtension.pdf?dl=0

Oups, it's in French  :D

So, here's what :

Notes on the Golem
The wizard that gets those has an advantage in knowing when and where the Golem should appear. He automatically picks his deployment area for the second scenario, and after all the bands are deployed, he can move up to 3 figures at half their movement value. They were here first.

Studiying the Golem
The first wizard (not apprentice) to get inside 6'' radius of the Golem, and successfully casting a spell against the Golem (in or out of the 6'' radius, his choice), get to discover some flaws in the Golem.
When he later confront the Golem, and cast a spell against it (him, not the apprentice, and not through an object or scroll), he gets one the following advantages :
+2 on the difficulty of the Will test by the Golem to resist a spell
+2 on the Attack test resolved against the Golem

I didn't change the outcome of the scenarios. At least, not yet. I'll let you know how it turns out when we'll play those two scenarios.
