I'm about to embark on constructing and painting the Eureka Guillotine and crowd set. Three of the figures are French soldiers doing crowd control while one is an officer standing watching. I've researched the figures as best as I can via the internet but can't work out from the photos I've found which shades of blue and red to use for the jackets, facings etc.
I'd be really grateful if someone could give me some advice on which paints to use. If someone had a recipe for the wooden guillotine that would be a bonus!
Thanks for any help given!

The blue I believe used for uniforms was a shade of two darker than French Blue

You also have some armed civilians from the period on the Wargames Foundry website that might be usefull.
