It's been said that a WW1 flier had a life expectancy of 10 days, well I disproved this today at the club, 10 Minutes more like ,strewh , stone the crows.....

Nice, reminds me I haven't done any WWI air wargaming this year. Are they 1/72 kits?
And what unlucky bastard got the Eindecker?
-
Yes, all plastic 1/72 kits, oddly enough the Germans won this encounter...

Some more pics from the game , chaps.

Just waiting for the new Airfix Be2c

Had my 1st look at your blog, loved it.

Keep posting - these are lovely.
One of the cheapest wargaming things we can do at this scale; many 1/72 WWI aircraft are AU$5-AU$15 here (Sopwith Camel, Fokker Dr.I, etc). And it's what got me into wargaming as a teenager, had a whole ceiling of hanging aircraft models - many 1/72 WWI models.

Ah, the happy carefree days of youth.......

Lovely planes - what rules did you use?
-
Thanks, Lindegaard , an old set of rules "Canvas Eagles ".
-
Hi,
Canvas Eagles they are the 'updated' Blue Max board games rules from memory, good set to use!
Cheers!

I have an original, unpunched copy of Fight in the Skies that I would like to do this with. Played it many years as Dawn Patrol, and then found my copy of Fits locally. Yay!

I really like the FE2b and DH2. Who makes those kits?

I believe these are Airfix and Revel plastic kits , built and owned by David Brown , a long time member of the club. I thought they deserved a wider audience , I particularly like the bracing wires on some of the planes , lovely little models.
