Had our first try with the Fallout Skirmish v.7 rules by Weird Kreig. Really fun stuff!
Here is a picture of the starting layout.

Battle for the safe objective. Frag Grenades and Miniguns tore up the joint! The Wasteland Survivor firing a minigun at my Vault Dweller Overseerer. There was also a mobile eyebot and mobile settler objectives.

Some more pics of the gas station. Very much a work in progress. Still have to paint the ground, highlight, add posters and details, and LOTS of weathering. Based on a Plasticville O-scale gas station.

Wow man! How cool to see the rules in action!! If you have any ideas on changes or improvements, let me know and I will edit them.
Love your city by the way. What mat are you using?
-
I was going to make up a rule set using SPECIAL, then THANKFULLY I saw yours. Only one question at the moment, about grenades... You roll with +2 to hit, if you miss it scatters. How far does the grenade scatter? What size diameter blast template do you use? If it scatters, everyone under it only takes 1 Endurance check?
Did you ever get around to making up missions?
The mat is from Deep Cut Studios, and is cloth.
Thanks!! :)
-
Very nice table mate!
-
Lovely! Where did you get the rocket from?
-
Thanks! I got the rocket off of Ebay, It was blue and I think it was advertised as a cake topper, came with a round, hill-like base. The closest thing I could find to match the original.

Good catch on the grenades!
I'd say: D12/2 for scattering grenades (which is nice as you can use the D12 for both the direction and distance). For templates I designed a 3" and a 5" template (I like these sizes as they're used by many games). Frag, Plasma, Pulse Grenades, Heavy Incinerator and Rock-It Launchers with 3" templates and the 5" template for Nukas and the Missile Launcher.
Models directly hit by the attack or if the centre of the template scatters on top of their base take 3 Endurance checks and the rest 1 Endurance check.
Never got down to scenarios, but it shouldn't be hard to think of some cool Fallout missions. I'll see if I have some time soon.
One other thing I want to do is to reverse the SPECIAL system I used. Now low SPECIALs give better stats...but that of course is a bit silly in a Fallout game!! So that needs to be reversed. Not hard to do, but requires some focused reading and logical thinking.
-
OK, thanks a lot for that!
I do have to remind players that using SPECIAL, lower is better lol
-
Here is the mission we played. I modified it some after the game. It is built around the terrain that I have, so would have to be modified some for general use.

-
Spent some time to alter the Fallout Skirmish rules to reverse the SPECIALS. So now high SPECIALs are GOOD and low SPECIALs are BAD. And thus: low dice rolls are GOOD and high dice rolls are BAD.
Also tweaked some minor things here and there. But nothing major...yet. I will do some missions, add the rosters and images, etc. It's about time ;)

Found the ebay listing for the curious: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RETRO-SCI-FI-STYLE-PLASTIC-SPACESHIP-ROCKET-MOON-MEN-VEHICLE-PARTY-CAKE-TOPPER-/201000081738?hash=item2ecc89d94a:g:HhYAAOxyQyJRmFkR (http://www.ebay.com/itm/RETRO-SCI-FI-STYLE-PLASTIC-SPACESHIP-ROCKET-MOON-MEN-VEHICLE-PARTY-CAKE-TOPPER-/201000081738?hash=item2ecc89d94a:g:HhYAAOxyQyJRmFkR)

Yes, found that, only to be fooled by US cross Atlantic shipping costs once again. Dammit.
-
If you are trying to source a rocket somewhat like that, Pegasus Hobbies does a few that migth be suitable, Luna and Apollo 27 or some such? The latter has a main rocket body plus three rocket engine modules, it's pretty nice. Maybe you might be able to find one locally?
Oh, and nice job on the gas station! :D
-
Oh, I've got the Apoll0 28 thing (somewhere) but thats intended for my Repconn display piece. As it is pretty damn big. Wish I could remember where I put it.
-
Something you'll come across rather easy in our lands is the Tintin rocket. Lost of sizes.
Unfortunatly they aren't that cheap.

Yes, it's big one. But I seem to recall some version of RR symbol were on the large side as well, and you could use the smaller side pods if you wanted a smaller rocket? And the Luna one seems to come in two scales as well, but I havent seen that in the flesh.
-
Fantastic job of the Red Rocket station! :-* The Red Rocket is my home base in my Fallout 4 game!

Interesting rules... Is there a quick reference sheet?

Welcome to the Fallout baby! Some green adventurers fresh out of Vault 141 explore the wasteland. I'm going to call the gas station done, I might have went a bit overkill on the washes, but hey, its the apocalypse!

Some interior shots, you may be able to pick out some things that can be used as secondary objectives... Buffout case, mentats, Mr. Handy Fuel, red toolbox, yellow explosives case, Grognak & Wasteland Survival Guide magazines..

Mac, there isn't a quick reference sheet yet.

You've done a really great job here.
-
This is wonderful.

Thanks!
-
It sure looks the part.

Some more progress on the Fallout Skirmish project...
Made some radiation markers for the game. Done in FO4 colors. Don't get within 3" or forget your Radaway!

Finished the large billboard!

View of the back with sniper perch and red toolbox and TESLA magazine possible random secondary objectives. The basic billboard frame is from a Pegasus Platformer kit. The toolbox is a Hirstarts cast, car is a Disney Pixar diecast, chair is 4Ground, rifle is Hasslefree.

Very cool Billboard. I was thinking about some Lasercut stuff for my Table, but you gave me the perfect inspration! Thx I think I´ve to steal it^^
-
Thanks! I was also looking at laser cut stuff, and the Batman game billboard, then I realized I had extra Pegasus stuff and foamcore lying around lol.
-
Where the Barrels are from?
-
Where the Barrels are from?
Also interested in this, you really can never have enough 55 gallon drums in a post apoc setting. lol
-
JR Miniatures. Set of 12 in two sizes. The drystone casts were a little rough, with air bubbles (that can be filled in if you want), but I just used them as leak points lol .
The toxic spills were made from 2-part 5 minute clear epoxy with a drop of Reaper Alien Goo paint. First time I used epoxy for this, and like the way it turned out, glossy, transparent, and thick enough for drips.
-
Very cool..
-
I love the barrels! The billboard makes the grade too.
Glad to see someone else using the Weird Krieg rules - the only reason I don't anymore is the existence of Pulp Alley. It is a good solid system.
-
Looks great!!
-
Another terrain piece done! Nothing better after a long day of hunting stingwings and radstags then sipping some warm Gwennett Lager and relaxing on your ratty sofa. :)

-
This is impressive. All the bits are well placed and makes the entire piece interesting...a kill zone for the overly curious?
-
What truck is that? The cab seems a decent proxy for the FO3/NV ones. Nice job! Really full of character with all the small details. 8)
-
Well done! Where did the furniture come from, if you don't mind my asking?
-
Thanks, glad you like it! The truck is a Revell model kit I got off ebay for a couple bucks (paid more for shipping lol). There was no scale listed for it.
(http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae231/Sporozoan/Red%20Rocket/Revell_zpsatdsc9zl.jpg) (http://s975.photobucket.com/user/Sporozoan/media/Red%20Rocket/Revell_zpsatdsc9zl.jpg.html)
The Rubbish sofa, chair and beer bottles are from BlackCatBases. The explosives box is for O-scale train scenery detail from an ebay dealer. There is a Tumbler Today magazine next to the chair that is just a shrunk-down pic, printed out, cut out, leaving space for a back cover, folded in half with some extra paper sheets inside for thickness. The 10mm pistol next to chair is Hasslefree. The barrel is a HirstArts cast. The white concrete bits were an attempt to help it blend in with the playing mat, just extra Hydrocal plaster left over from Hirst arts molds poured over textured plasticard to get texture on one side, plain on the other.

Ahh, I knew it looked familiar. I had looked at that same one on Ebay myself... ;)

My signal relay station with raider roof shack is pretty much done, just need to add some minor details and touch up. The grey interior door slides out, so the wall terminal can be hacked to get to whats inside the room. The interior walls and base are Sintra foamed PVC board, my new most favorite thing for terrain building! Sintra is like foamcore, but heavier, stronger, won't warp (yes, foamcore can warp), and won't melt with spray paint. It can be cut with an X-acto knife, carved, heated to be bent (I'm thinking of curved factory walls in the future) Does cost more though. Base model is Plasticville's O-scale TV station. Generator machine on exterior is Reaper Bones. Consoles are Hirstarts casts. Hope you like, and don't sleep on the grungy mattresses unless you own them!

Nice addition! I like it. Maybe for more Post Apoc feeling a harder weathering on the whole piece. i think on Rust on the Antenna, more Rubble and trash around the Building etc.
-
^
Agree. A bit too clean for Post Apo.
-
Great stuff! Especially love the big truck! You really nailed it right there. :-* :-* 8)
-
Thanks for the suggestions! I think in the video game, the radio towers were actually pretty clean, but I agree it would look better with some rust. I also need to print out another sheet of my paper debris to cut out and add to it (ran out) and add some dirt.
-
Excellent work some lovely terrain and miniatures being brought to life. Keep up the good work!
