Hello everyone
I just wanted to share our latest Kickstarter project... it's a small project, aimed at producing some female adventurer minis. We've gone for a low-level, practically equipped aesthetic; so there's no cheesecake or over-the-top weapons and armour.
If it sounds like something you might like, take a look:

These look great! Love your sculpts. I think you'll find this will go down rather well...
Cheers,
EvilD

+1 it gong down very well, :)
-
Might just be the angel, but some of their leg lengths seem to be a little off. Not trying to be a negative type. Just wondering if those are the best photos.
Aside from that I like the rest.
-
Backed!
You can't go wrong with a KS from oahsworn, always quality delivered in a timely fashion,
Regards
Jim

Love the shoes!
-
Nice minis!
Has anyone seen Annie? ;)
-
Interesting project 8)

Really like these. Have set myself a reminder, so I can see if I can budget these in.... :D
-
Backed this one as soon as I could. Great-looking miniatures from a name I know I can trust.

No, I see what you mean - I have definitely photographed them from above a bit, which has foreshortened them slightly... Here's a more level pic, with the leg bones drawn in:

Thank you Jim! Much appreciated!

And thank you too, Garanhir!

Very good to see stuff like this.
The lanterns and torches limit their usefulness for me, though. I'll have to ask myself whether I want to embark on a dedicated dungeon-crawling project, and if I do, I'd probably want to find a few matching males with lanterns or torches as well.
Decisions, decisions...

Good for winter themed adventuring as well, as you are well aware of the Northern winters and how dark they turn... :)

Oathsworn are a great little company and their Fantasy miniatures are always a treat. I've backed 4 of their previous KSs and it looks like I'll be in for this one too.
Looking forward to the continuation of the Norse God line.
-
Backed! Love the subject matter.

I applaud the subject matter and the quality of sculpting. (great as ever) But the faces do seem a wee scooch similar.
-
Thanks, and much better.
-
Very nice. My favourite is the rogue. I really like how they all have a good amount of equipment with them also.

Same here. Great figures, but more use for dungeon crawls & RPGs, neither of which are in my plans at the moment. Best of luck with the KS!
-
Great project and nice to see word is getting out, judging by the funding so far!

Ditto - and I backed again, my 4th Oathsworn KS :D

Nice work, but
I applaud the subject matter and the quality of sculpting. (great as ever) But the faces do seem a wee scooch similar.
Have to agree with Vermis here. In addition to a general physical resemblance, they all carry the same blankly expressionless look, which makes them even more similar.
Which is not to say that the faces are BADLY sculpted. They're well done. But as Jules once said, "personality goes a long way."
-
This is a great initiative. Good price, easy-to-understand, not some sprawling mess of pledge levels and goals ... looks like I'm going in for my first Kickstarter.
-
Funded.
Currently 15k+ of 2k+ goal.
Obviously popular.

Pretty much same hair, too. Be good to see variety in length, curl, styling (plaits, ponytail, bun, whatever).
-
The Girls are just as LOVELY fully clothed AND don't look like they are in danger of catching pneumonia or some less savory disease. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE! I wish you the BEST OF GOOD LUCK with the Kickstarter!

Thanks - it's amazing how much equipment a starting D&D character gets. I couldn't fit it all on. (10 torches for a start!) :o

Yep, it seems to be popular, this one. I'm putting it down to a combination of RPGs and Twitter... :D
Have to agree with Vermis here. In addition to a general physical resemblance, they all carry the same blankly expressionless look, which makes them even more similar.
The similar expressions are mostly down to the fact that they are all creeping through a dungeon, staring into the darkness. When I get on to more 'actiony' poses, the expressions will change!

2 have ponytails, one has little bunches, but it's very hard to tell from the photos! The bard I've just finished has a dread-type style, though, so she looks obviously different.
Ditto - and I backed again, my 4th Oathsworn KS :D
Thank you Van - glad to have you back! :)

Excellent, I love these
-
Nice figures - and as others have already noticed, Oathsworn does crowdfunding right. I would fund this project, but Neotacha beat me to it. If some of the additional figures are more are in more "action" poses and there is an option to pick up just those sculpts, I might support it as well. But we probably don't need to double up on the torch/lantern bearers.

This is only my second Oathsworn KS, I first backed your Dwarven campaign way back when!
I'm excited for this range, they'll make for great player characters in my RPG sessions, and will fill out my Frostgrave warbands well. Interestingly, my Thaumaturge Warband already has a number of figures with lanterns, some of these will fit in perfectly!
-
I'm not really into kickstarters, will these be available after it's over?

Normally I'd be saying, yes, provided it funds, but that's already happened, so yes... although they're cheaper on the KS than they will be at retail, for the higher pledge levels anyway...
Anyway, project news... I finished the Bard:

There's a step-by-step update here: Step-by-step linky (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oathsworn/heroines-in-sensible-shoes-28mm-miniatures-for-rol/posts/1475940)
And I've got the next four mini's heads done:

You'll note, different face shapes, and a smirk on the gnome... see, I do listen sometimes! :D

Had another look and yes, I can see them now, thanks.
Also spotted the bard, very nice.

Very long day sculpting, but I got another one done - Half-orc barbarian with javelin and great-axe:

Jav seems a bit short (or the shaft's too thick for the length). Awesome model otherwise.
Love the bard! I think she'll look even better painted, when the armour details become clear to the eye.

Yep, I agreed on the half-orc, she didn't look right. So I hacked her up a bit, and resculpted...
Last few hours for the project now, so here's some pics you may not have seen yet. Modded half-orc, dragonborn, forest gnome, pregnant lady, monster's nest and an inked metal cast.

Really nice work all round. Half-Orc looks much better.
-
Welp - I fell in via proxy - Sharing a pledge with a friend of mine. Looking forward to painting a few of these. Should work great for Otherworld, Relicblade, Open Combat and my modified LotR SBG-Mordheim crossover thing I am working on at the moment. What I am trying to say is - Great miniatures and great initiative :D
-
Despite my better financial judgment, my plans to avoid international postage, and my goal to get away from larger figures I upped my pledge a few hours ago...
My wife better help me paint some of these or I am doomed to not outliving my lead pile!
-
I'm not really into kickstarters, will these be available after it's over?
I've backed a whole slew of Kickstarters of different shapes and sizes - too many for my own good; some excellent, others less so - but I have to say that my very best experiences came from small manufacturers presenting small ranges of models, and Oathsworn are a case to point. I have backed 4 of their campaigns so far, and they're smooth running and deliver rapidly - and the stuff produced is consistently good. I'd say an Oathsworn KS is as good as buying direct from an online store, with a price advantage and a freeby to boost countering the necessary brief wait for your stuff to arrive (part of the fun, actually), in the case of Oathsworn very rapidly by KS standards. You also get some very interesting updates on techniques used along the way, with oodles of photos, which I really think I should compile in a PPT for continued enjoyment.
These particular KS are definitely a relaxed and very positive experience. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks everyone! and thanks Van! we do try...
I'm tempted to gather all the Update tutorials and videos and put them on a website...
-
I backed this one as soon as I found out about it. Females with torches and lanterns and perfect for Frostgrave adventures. I agree about backing some of the smaller KS out there. You get great figures at a good price. In a few days I'll be backing the next Mike Burns Egyptian Miniatures as well. There are some really great miniatures being offered by small businesses and the postage is very reasonable per figure.
-
Cheers Cyrus!
It's ended now, and it ended well, much better than we expected. So now the real work begins... :'(
though thankfully, Jo and Pete have to do most of that! :D
-
I miss this KS. Great job all around. You trully achieve your goal of creating female adventurer without big boobs and bikini chainmail. They all looks great and "realistic". i will definitively look after them when available in your store.
-
Treebeard, you can still pledge through Paypal if that helps - here: http://oathsworn.net/ (http://oathsworn.net/)
