Title: 28mm Ford T?
Post by: shandy on January 30, 2016, 11:26:41 AM
Hi!

I'm about to start a Mexican Revolution project and would like to find a inexpensive model of a Ford T to have as a piece of scenery. I know about the Brigades Games model, but would rather get a toy car I could repaint. As I've no real experience with 28mm, could you point me towards a car that would go with the minis?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! However, I've read that 1/64 is way too small for 28mm figures… have you seen the Tin Soldier models 'in the flesh'?
Cheers,
Shandy

I have to admit this one eluded me too. The Matchbox Models of Yesteryear one is far too large and the Lledo Days Gone By one far too small.

Try www.diecastdirect.com (http://www.diecastdirect.com) and checkout the 1/43 (this might be a little too big), 1/48 and 1/50 scale cars.

What about the Disney Cars Model T? I have one and it is a bit small but not too bad and you can get them cheap on ebay.

Looks like the smallest these guys have for Model Ts is 1/43, which you are correct is too big.

Here is a pic of the Disney Model T to show how it scales up.

Thanks for the hints guys!

The Disney model is a bit too cartoonish for my taste. Company B looks nice, but is the same price as the Brigade one - plus p&p to Europe this is would be bit too much for my taste. At the moment, I like the Lledo versions best, although they only offer vans…

that is true. I think they only do the vans.
