I hadn't painted any miniatures since before Salute in April Last year. My painting and modelling mojo had all but disappeared and picking up the brushes was too much of a chore. I forced myself to break this deadlock and managed to paint the figures below. I am not overly happy with the results, but at least I am back on the road to recovery lol
Introducing Ma Bibbly and her Beer wagon. Ma Bibbly is going to be a reoccurring character in our Dorset Smugglers and F&IW games. The wagon and Ma Bibbly are Redoubt Miniatures, the Barrel of Beer (which is removable) is from Hovels Miniatures and Annabelle the Ox is from Front Rank Miniatures.

Here are two pigs from from the excellent Lead Adventure Miniatures range which are superb, characterful sculpts and were great fun to paint. I think I have just about done them justice.
They will be featuring in my game at BLAM later this year which is going to be called "Bring home the Bacon"... ;)
Introducing Jimmy and Marky, two fat piggies. :D

Those pigs look the biz although I think they need a name change :-I
lol
cheers
James
-
Don't know about a name change but that photo is ideal for a caption competition. Lovely painting btw Nick :-*
-
No, no it isn't lol
-
Is naming everything you paint part of the recovery programme? :D
Good to see you're back on the brushes with some bangtidy paint jobs.
-
Lovely!
:-*
Good to see that you are back on the wagon...... ::)
Those names seem so apt....what inspired you?
;D ;D

We don't need to know that, lets just be thankful he's painting again lol
-
Shouldn't there be a piglet to complete make a trio?
Well done Nick, glad to see you're back on the horse, er, cow, er, pigs, er, Ma Bibbly....
-
GREAT! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Nice paintwork Nick. And a conversion on Ma Bibbly too, unless I'm much mistaken? (I have that figure, and I'm sure she's pointing a flintlock pistol... )
Glad you're back on the brushes. The LPL awaits ;)
Jimmy and Marky the porkers... lol
Love it.
(I bet they like pizza, don't they?)
-
Nice painting.
Love the wagon.
As for the pigs,
How a about a naming contest?
I say call them Jimmy and Dean.
-
The pigs are just an obvious attempt to get a grant from the current government. I suspect it will backfire. Maybe add a Bullingdon Club tie to one of 'em.
-
Great painting, Sir Nick. I expected you to call the pigs Grimm and Dirk. But there will be a Chance for you, when you paint the terrible Hessian mercenaries. ;)
-
That's the ticket. Like the wagon ;) love the pigs. :D :D
-
Looking good! I bet Ma Bibbly is a popular woman with that load.
-
Very nice, and good to see you painting again!
-
Love the wagon and the pigs! Then again, what gamer doesn't like bacon and beer? Just not Bacon Beer, as I call smoked porters...haha!

I shall take a guess at..... all the rest of the pies!
;D ;D
-
Which of Jimmy and Markie is the missus? :o
And where's their little one, Nicky? :D
-
Markie, the lady pig on the left of the photo, turns to Jimmy and says, "That ole' farmer's sure been feeding us well lately but I think we're getting a might fat. Do you think we should go on a diet?" Jimmy grunts in response.
-
Swanky!
-
Oooh, themīs so pretty I'd marry them.
-
Caption competition (for the pigs)
"You'll have to speak up.... I'm getting crackling in this ear"

Lovely new digs for mobile bacon supply. The groundwork in the sty is particularly effective. :D
Nice to see you back at it. :D

That's a bit of a pig sty :D
Where did ypu find your mojo I could do with some?
Already looking forward to BLAM. Maybe get a shot on the Dorset board this year?

I have to thank James and Mark for the return of my mojo. So much so that I named the pigs after them. lol
Dorset at BLAM? It's a possibility. ;)

Love the pig sty. How did you do the ground work?

Well, it certainly is not the debris from his last trip to the barbers...... ;D

These days the Barber can shave more than just your head... :o

Cheeky Fucker!
Speaking of hair, have you had yours cut yet you long haired Git? >:D
Gary, James has been kind enough to let me loose in his games room this last few weeks, so I have had access to all his scratch building goodies. The groundwork is a combination of bristles from a brush and other bits of flock and anything left over. :)

You are becoming the wizard's apprentice!
There'll be Frostgrave models of the two of you soon :)
(One heroic scale 28mm, the other 15mm :D)

A question from someone in the New World.
Is this a new style of English house? :-* or :o or ;D
(Please take it in the fun intended.)

The way house prices are going in London you'd probably pay half a million quid for this and that's without the land ( or piggys for that Matter).

You are right, I think. It is a modern flat building for 10 Families. Isn't it???
-
Nice to see you up to no good, Malamute. These figs all look great, especially the aptly named piggies. lol
Love the pig sty. How did you do the ground work?
I have to admit I'm curious about this too.

What you actually mean is that he let you take the sweepings from the floor home when you had finished your chores, didn't he....?
We know, we know.......

No I had that too. I couldn't shut my eyes as the images burned.
James wearing denim dungarees that are too short (half mast at his shins), no shirt, bulging biceps and gnarly hands from much pig-wrangling, chewing on a cornstalk, wearing a frayed straw hat, a quizzical look on his face, unable to comprehend why stuff on the ground always looks smaller to him...
Nick wearing denim dungarees that are too long (legs rolled up to gather at his ankles), a glossy red-neck that creeps all the way over his head to his nose, one hand in pocket as he fiddles with the tractor keys, other hand holding the feed bag that doubles as a booster cushion....
:o
-
lol
-
Well done Nick. :-* :-*
Lovelly miniatures.
-
Oooh, what splendidness old fruit :-*
Good to see the wrist brush action is back on form.
