This is the start of a 13 figure unit, plain civilian clothing ( makes a change from all that dark green of the Rangers lol). Once again I'll update the thread as I go along, and hopefully some photos when they are fully based.
-
Some close ups
-
Cracking work Jeff. ;D
-
Cracking :D
cheers

Nice work on those minis Jeff,in your opinion do these match up in size to the Galloping major minis you've just completed ? :)
-
Gradely Jeff.
I have several of these in my F&IW collection. Nice figures.
-
Those are some amazing poses! You have to love the pistol pose...you can almost hear him, muttering, "Take that, foul heathen!"
Great job...

Thanks lads, more to come. Richard your gallery is extremely inspirational.

I think they mix in OK, the size of the miniature is not something I fret about quite honestly. As a species we are all different shapes and sizes, when you see them all on the table with some nice terrain it's the overall picture that does it for me. Anyway here they are mixed together for you to draw your own conclusions.
-
Thanks For the comparison photo Jeff, they look a good match,to my eyes anyway, cheers :)
-
Top draw, Jeff.
:-* :-*
Just check if there is a shifty looking Postie amongst them while you are at it, eh?
;)

-
Wonderful stuff. The figures really look good together.
-
More lovely paint jobs
Are they a commission or for yourself?
-
They are for HuRhu Colin, might get to see them at BLAM Gary?
-
Fine painting.
Love to colors you have used.
It looks like the two ranges match well together.
-
Here's the completed thirteen figure unit, when they're based up Gary says he will post some more piccies.
-
Close ups of the last six.
-
Nice work on those Jeff, like the colours used, they make a lovely looking unit. :)
-
Nice work, Jeff.
Especially the fella in the grey coat.
:-* :-*

I like the chap and the young boy handing out the loaded muskets. They're great, I haven't seen those before :)

They are from one of the packs without photos on the Redoubt website. It also includes two women loading muskets, really brings out the desperate settlers defending their home feeling.
-
I migh thave to pick that pack up ;D
-
Looking fantastic. can't wait to get my hands on these.
-
Redoubt has some real gems in their ranges. And they match up perfectly with those from that other fantastic range, Galloping Major.
But of course as always it takes a great painter like Jeff to bring out the best in them!
-
Thank you for taking the time to comment, some nice sculpts amongst these figures. Now on to some big guns :)
-
I promised Jeff that I would post some pictures of the figures once they were based. Here they are in action.

I think Jeff did an amazing job on the painting. Sadly my photographic skills are not up to his standard (a bit like my painting :D)
-
Thanks for posting, they look great, basing is smashing :)
-
More beautifully painted figures from Jeff 8)
Nice to see those comparison shots of Redoubt figures and ours :)

Great job!!
In the age of the internet it always baffles me that some manufacturers don't have a pic on their website of pack contents the moment it is released. These days it is often a case a no pic, no sale. It is unusual for a consumer to buy anything sight unseen.
The loading pack is now on my shopping list.
-
Excellent stuff Gary ;D
-
Nice one Gary, that basing makes them look the biz (even if I say so myself) ;)
-

Thanks. I wanted to get all the figures based the same way so that the collection looks homogenous, even though there are two different manufacturors and two different painters.
-
Another eight of these some of them duplicates, this time for DrDeath who will do the basing.
-
Some close ups.
-
They all look rather splendid. I think my favourite is the boy passing the loaded musket to the older gentleman :)
-
great, Jeff. :o
-
Cracking job :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Great work as usual.
-
More nice work on those minis Jeff,I must agree with Malamute, the older gentleman receiving the musket from the youth is the standout in this batch. :)
-
Lovely work, mate.
:-* :-*
My personal favourite is the woman in yeller.
That shading is great!
8) 8)
(Those female civvies would work well in the Old West too, farmers wives equipped with old weapons. Are they Redoubt or GM?)
-
More excellent brushwork there Jeff, thanks.

I think the clue is in the Thread title. ;) :D

Lovely stuff!
How do you get such a clean white with good depth?

You may be on to something there!
:D :-[

Nice stuff! Great looking colonials. I agree that the womenfolk would not look out of place in an Old West game.

Lovely stuff!

Three stages Andy, first off a 60/40 mix of white and GW Dawnstone, then Coat de Armes horse tone light grey and then final highlight of white.

More civilian types for DrDeath, plenty here now to populate a small settlement. Mark will finish them off with some suitable basing I imagine.
-
Haven't you finished his figures yet? lol
Lovely work as usual. :-*
-
More nice work on those minis Jeff, there can't be an 18th century civilian you haven't painted lol.
-
Lovely work, sir.
Really crisp and clean as usual.

lol
He must have painted enough to populate the FIW answer to Lilliput by now.
;)
-
I love those civilians! I need more myself for a Song of Drums and Tomahawks scenario we're going to run at conventions in 2017. I will have to look into picking some of those up. AND stealing your color schemes... lol
Fantastic job!

I do that all the time Mike :)
EXACTLY!!! ;)
Photographing a whole range of figures must involve a lot of work, a good idea I see with a lot of manufacturers now is to have a customer gallery which has to be the next best thing.
-
Lovely work jeff :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Very nice work!
-
Thanks both, when Mark gets over his jet lag perhaps we'll see them based up :)
-
Very nice!!! I'll plan make it too

Merveilleux, Monster!
