Title: Some stuff i have done!
Post by: Unforgiven on December 14, 2008, 07:15:13 PM
K well, I feel like posting pics today, since no one has seen my stuff yet, here it is:

First:

A Warhammer Fantasy Warrior Priest:

I did this guy back in Feb. He was my first miniature that I trying highlighting and shading and the first mini I used blending and glazes on! He also got me a Warpstone! (A trophy)

Second:
Aragorn from Lord of The Rings:
and this is his base before I started highlighting and shading and whatnot:

He was my 2nd miniature that I did using blending etc, he was really fun!

Thanks for looking  ;D

Great brush work, the eyes on the sigmar dude are very controlled. As for critique, Id say up the contrast a bit. SOme dark ling wouls be good, will neaten your models up no end. Also helps to tie the different colors together a bit. Also maybe take the highlights up a bit further, as I said to give more contrast.

I also would say that especially the faces could use a bit more contrast - but for a first and second go, they are magnificent!

There's a huge improvement in skill to see just from the priest to Aragorn. Keep up that way and place yourself in the major league  :)

Yep, nice painting on Aragon. Far better than what I was able to do when I was 14.

Very good.

They are neat and clean.  Some painters underestimate the importance of this early on.  But if you start "neat" your progression is much faster.

As others have said blacklining or darklining is a big help.  (If you want examples, take a look at my website - link is my signature -  and look in "Hasslefree."  The "Technician" - this was quite extreme because that was the effect I wanted, then look at "Madge" where I went for "normal" for me.)
