Title: (Kickstarter) Battlestations: Second Edition
Post by: tnjrp on March 01, 2016, 10:01:30 AM
Hmm. I didn't realize* that (1) Gorilla Games had gone 28mm with this one and (2) they have a minis only pledge level. Mighty nice (way to get my money) of them, both 8)

And to think I was trying to remember this game just the other day in the "Favourite science fiction aliens" thread whilst bemoaning the fact that it's 15mm: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=85161.0

*) and I would've blamed the lot of you for not telling me, had I missed this :-[

Huh, I was sure there was a thread already here about the KS, but seems like there isn't...

Could be, but it's fairly well hidden one if it exists o_o

Probably like me; TMP-induced deja vu.  lol

Strangely enough, I was good with the 15mm, but not that spaceship 'rooms' were a bit, well, claustrophobic. Had they been 10x10, or bigger, I might have been more interested.

Still, happy for the folks who are loving this.

They ended up funded more than 5 times over so it does look like a lot of folks did like it.

I'll have to see if I want to add another base set of miniatures once the pledge manager comes online. Not too keen on multiples of the stretch goal ones, too many "furries" and too few exotic xenos in that set for my liking. I'll have to try and pry more information about retail plans for these from GG's post-KS cold, dead fingers before I commit tho. If it turns out that they are promising single species packs in the bright future of ca. 2017 for example then I might save my money for that (even tho it'll cost more per miniature for sure).

It's not a bad game, but since I have a buttload of the 15mm figures, and a bunch of 15mm centric add ones, I probably with just get the new rule book when it appears as a PDF....

Updates on the progress of this one have been a little on the scarce side, but semiofficially (in the project comments) Mr. Siadek commented about a week ago that
Quote
We are still on track for January 2017 delivery. We just confirmed the miniatures and should have samples to show off at Essen.
Which is 8)

Incidentally, if anybody wants to get the just the humans and the "furries" from the miniature sets, I'm amicable to either swapping them for the "exotics" or selling them off for peanuts.

It's good of you tnjrp!Missed this one totally  :(

In a VERY classy move, the guy has uploaded the STL files of the figures - free to use and modify for personal use

I may be waiting for this one at retail...

Too bad they made the switch to larger figures or I would have been tempted.  Glad they were successfully funded.

Pretty cool about those figure files.  I've been wanting some Elephantmen figures and there's a Croc, Elephant, and others in there and they look about the right size (50mm or so).  Now I've got to find out how to get use of the Library's 3d printer.
