Title: Genestealer Hybrid Ogryn?

Right,

All this talk about Genestealer Cults has me in bouts of nostalgic regret (read: I really wish I had started and completed my GSC Necromunda gang back in the nineties, instead of waiting almost 20 years... ::) ).

So I'm looking to add to the few metal minis I already have. Ebay is an expensive option, but really the only viable one right now, what with the global enthousiams for the faction coming to  a slow boil right about now.

But, in my searches, I also came across something which I fear must have been either an unreleased mini, or a private commission; a Genestealer Hybrid Ogryn. I know there is another commissioned mini out there, toting a two-handed axe/halberd (saw it for ridiculous money on Ebay), but that's not the one I'm after now.

Rather, it's this one:

Coincidentally, these are the only two sources I could find, raising my suspicion that this was indeed a private job.

Does anyone know anything more about this mini?

Yes, private commission from memory. Pity: it's a fantastic miniature. Anyway, I'm pretty sure some of the gentlemen involved frequent LAF, so they may be able to fill you in on the details.

It seems like it would be a fairly simple conversion from a plastic fantasy Ogre with some Genestealer/tyranid parts... I doubt you'd need to do too much green-stuff work if you were selective with components.

 I decided if I do genestealer style cult I would use some of this companies miniatures with maybe some gw crypt ghouls painted as pure strains.

I've got one, it's actually a 2nd Gen hybrid, rather than an Ogryn, and, as mentioned above, it was a small private commission and no longer available.

The Macrocosm Ogs would be a good substitute, though. I keep meaning to put in a big order for their Malignancy range to bolster my GS Cultists.
