What figure options are there for missile units in Nurgle themed armies?
I have Plaguebearers, Chaos Warriors, various Heresy miniatures bugs and slugs and some of the GW characters/demons but am stuck on getting an "in theme" missile unit for the army.
I recall someone doing a figure firing maggots with a catapult which could work but cannot find it now.
What else is out there?

Wouldn't the various skaven musketeers ("musk rats"?) and poisoned-wind globadiers work well? Rats, after all, are vectors of plague ...
-
The skaven jezzails and poison wind globadiers became pretty pricey, especially the latter on ebay. That's the main reason I don't have any in my skaven collection!
The poison wind mortars from the Island of Blood starter set are also getting a bit scarce and expensive since it went OOP, but some still seem to be going at lower prices on ebay. Warpfire throwers could also be useful, if you imagine them spewing out a stream of filth rather than green flame.

You could do some awesome figures using liberal amounts of cheap clear glue to create slobbering rabid hellhounds, even ordinary warhounds
In the Classical world jars of venomous snakes and even beehives were catapulted onto the decks of enemy warships, so you could model different ammunition types
Then of course there's the usual wildfire variants...

Skaven Jezzails and Warpfire throwers are associated with Clan Skyre, which is more Tzeentchy than Nurglesque. You could try a Clan Pestilens Plague Catapult. Another options are 'death's heads', essentially plague grenades made from severed heads boiled in pus. Drone riders can already carry them, but you could add them to an infantry unit.

What about plaguebearer's lobbing plaguey things (mabye heads?) - they could you staff slings or something like that.

How about Warmachine Bile Thralls, creatures that use their own stomach contents as ammo.

or their big brother the Bloat Thrall?

You can stick anything on a catapult, nurglings, dead cows, puss balls what ever.
You can get some nice crossbow armed beast men from BTD. Just a paint job away from being nurgly.
How about an great fat daemon that uses its arse as a cannon to fire fecal bombs! If you have loads of money you may be able to find an arse cannon on ebay but a bit of converting could be cheaper.
A friend of mine uses diseased toads that vomit acid.

And they say wargaming is a childish past time! lol Love it!

Where there's a will, there's a way! :)

Not sure about missile troops, but have you seen the new slug chaos warrior from Ral Partha Europe?
http://www.ralparthaeurope.co.uk/shop/chaos-knights-c-186/
They sell the slug body separately so you could even use it to convert some slug bodied archers i guess.

OK a bit left field but Anvil industries do Tox troopers which I guess are meant for 40K but the guns are separate so you might be able to substitute crossbows

alternatively if you are happy with warpfire throwers these guys might make a nice human version

Something more conventional how about Frostgrave cultists?

Catapult or sling.

Didn't someone just start selling what amounts to an updated version of that figure?
-
Didn't hell dorado do some sort of maggot slingers?

Dont know the guy but he seems to have made a reasonable job of it.

Rob, you want Pud Throwers and the loose Puds pack from the game Dark Age. Excellent minis! The Throwers are part of the Brood collection. Pretty big minis, so they would make an impressive site in a army.

How has no one suggested anything with snot involved yet? lol

How about a catapult that fires nurglings at people? They could have little parachutes or something...

Reminds me of the old goblin Doom Divers! I have to agree, for artillery of some kind, nurgling catapults seem like the most obvious choice, unless you're trying to avoid being goofy. Given their role in the lore, though - as the vectors of disease - this seems like a fair choice. If you're looking to make up rules for them, then I would imagine they'd cause relatively little damage on impact, but disrupt units by jumping around, grabbing ankles, etc., and have the potential to spread disease of some kind.
If that's too goofy, then I think something that launches clay pots full of either poisonous gases or some corrosive contents would be ideal. Maybe look to the effects of troll vomit or something for rules.
For missile troops, I think I'd probably just stick to bows, crossbows, slings, and sling-staffs. Nurgle mutants have also often had the ability to vomit corrosive liquids in games, so units with short-range area-effect attacks might make sense.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Plenty to consider.
I am not after "gun" looking weapons but a mixed unit of degenerate creatures with bows/crossbows etc will work a treat. Need to look out for some Clan Pestilens skaven and Pestigor beastmen to convert.
I had not thought about Artillery, but some form of plague catapult may be an idea if the army gets bigger than Dragon Rampant size.

Looking forward to it.

You can just convert plague monks to have ranged weapons. There even a nice conversion of plague monks as Poison Wind Globadiers. Or you could the regular plague monks as spell casters. Reasoning that in GW AoS rules some nurgle unit has some form of magical ranged Attack. light the Blightkings Virulent Discharge.
