The Outlanders Kickstarter will be launched this evening at 8PM (UK time).

A range of figure designed to complement the old skool ranges out there and hopefully fill a few gaps, whilst setting the scene for their own setting which will be expanded as time goes by.
I aim to use them myself as gangs in Necromunda, frontier peoples in our Inquisimunda campaign and also begin my own campaign based in the new setting very soon.
It has also been suggested that would work well in Post-Apoc and Steampunk games, but I am sure that the imaginative can see plenty of other uses for them...

I think you might actually get me in this time, you monsters. >:(
Always lovely sculpts, never really towards an area I enjoy. This time, though...

You would, of course, be most welcome!
(Monster??? I have been called anything so nice for a while....
Thank you! :D).

Fourth backer and first comment :D We need to get the Marshall unlocked.

I can resist a lot of things, but none of them are cyberhounds.
-
Thanks, chaps.
Much appreciated.

I have a feeling that the Marshall could prove popular as there have been a few good responses regarding him.....

....and the Hounds.
:)

I'd ask the This is Not a Test guys if you can drop it on their Facebook, because it's basically perfect for tribals in TNT.

Yes, any chance that these might be available separately? The base set isn't really anything I'm after. These on the other hand!!
Fully understand if it's not feasible, but worth asking!

I think the idea for all these Kickstarters is to get all this stuff prepared for their store and website launch. So you'll probably be able to buy it afterwards for a markup.
Alternatively, you can just wait for it to hit the £1500 mark and then probably drop £8 to get it.
(Apparently it's trending towards £6.4k, which will probably level out to around £4k.)

I am not aware of the nature of the system/game. Do they already have a miniature range?
I wouldn't want to offend anyone as they may have plans of their own regarding miniatures.

Due to the current mould set up that is not possible, but I will look into it.
They will be available separately after the KS has fulfilled, of course.

I would not take any notice of 'trending'.....
;)

They do but they don't have any tribals. It's basically '50s style post-apocalyptic Necromunda instead of being set in 40k.
They also happily use other manufacturers miniatures (likely with permission) throughout the rulebook as examples.
Remember, if you never ask, you never get. lol

I find them usually to be off by about a standard deviation. :p

Thanks Mason, good to know!

OK, I will give it some thought.

I would be interested to know what that 'standard' is.

You are welcome.

Moving steadily on to that first Stretch Goal: The Shaman.
And, at the time of writing this, only one early bird master casting set left....

From the latest update....the beginning of the background of Outland.
Outland is a world on the fringes of human space, long separated from the immense Empire of Man until its recent rediscovery after some time of isolation from the rest of the Empire......
It has been over two centuries since the initial colonists of Outland found themselves deposited on a fertile world with a climate similar to distant Earth and were very happy with their new home.
They swiftly spread across the world’s main continent creating communities. These disparate elements quickly forming their own local governments whilst remaining under the leadership of the Planetary Governor located in the world's only settlement large enough to support a spaceport, Landfall.
Landfall was founded on the site of the colonists initial landing site, hence its name, and is situated in the northern part of the main continent in the temperate zone. With colonisation of the planet beginning from here, and settlers naturally spreading across the planet's main continent as they found suitable land, the further reaches of the continent had not been fully explored before contact with Earth was lost.
Due to cosmic storms and internal strife in the Empire of Man, Outland quickly became isolated from the rest of the Empire. This did not cause much upset for most of the colonists, however, many seeing it as an opportunity for independence and freedom from the galaxy-spanning Empire and settlements were quickly established, communities formed and some even took to a nomadic way of life, all blending the use of what modern technology they possessed whilst making use of the natural resources their new home provided.
It was to be some time before the settlers discovered that Outland was not the unsettled paradise that the initial surveys had relayed and the colonists had been led to believe.
They were not the first species to have colonised the planet and they would soon discover that they were not alone......

Fantstic background for Outlanders Mason :) This sounds absolutely intriguing mate, can't wait to get involved myself ;) Will this be your own game mechanic are you planning on using something familiar like Inquisimunda again?
-
I'm gonna have to paint those Outlanders models now...

I am thinking of just continuing using the L-Munda rules as we all know them.
No point in having to learn new stuff all the time.
I'm gonna have to paint those Outlanders models now...
You will, indeed!
:D

I like the sound of this. More please! :D

More will be forthcoming....soon.

In the meantime, the ladies are still trying to find that elusive Shaman and ask the Scout if he has any idea of his whereabouts....

Thanks, Timmy.
:)
I have adjusted the Stretch Goals to make them easier to achieve and also added another Pledge Level so others can get access to everything at a reduced price.
Existing Backers at 'Complete Outlander' Level will still be receiving master castings and are unaffected in any way.

Funding has now reached the point where the Shaman has been locked and he will now be added Free to the War Party.

The KS is into it's final two days and almost at the point of Unlocking a Cyber Hound to add to the War Party.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/643047657/outlanders-a-new-range-of-figures-for-tabletop-gam
Here is a little bit of background info from the last Update.....
The initial colonists spread out from Landfall, claiming plots of land as they went, creating farmsteads and settlements. Communities were formed across the entire, more temperate, Northern half of the main landmass.
Farming, trapping and herding became a staple way of life for the inhabitants of Outland, with some groups taking up a more nomadic existence.
The local fauna were quickly domesticated, along with specimens that had been brought to the world, and the colonists quickly settled into a regular and much loved lifestyle, based heavily on reaping the bounty that their new and untouched home provided.
As the settlers spread further North and West, into the mountainous region that formed a chain along the Western edge of the continent, the settlers began to find small structures that were quite obviously made by hand.
But whose hand?
If this world had never been previously settled, then who had built them...?
(Beehive Hut available from Fogou Models)
.
Their discovery caused no small amount of trepidation, but when nothing else was found or anything untoward happened, they began to utilise these small hut-like buildings when hunting or trapping in the region, using them to safely store foodstuffs and fuel. even living in them during adverse weather conditions.
.
Utilising these small structures became a commonplace thing for the Northern settlers and gradually their mystery and questions regarding their origins became a thing of legend.
Speculative tales of the mysterious 'Others', as the ancient builders became known, were told around camp fires in the evenings and used to scare the younger members of the families into behaving themselves.
Far fetched fairy tales themed along the lines of 'The 'Others' are going to get you if you stray off too far....' became a common theme.
Unfortunately they also proved true...........

Last few hours and the Cyber Hound has been Unlocked, so the war Party now has thirteen members.
