Title: Greetings from the Rhine
Post by: Nukleon on March 28, 2016, 04:55:18 PM
Dear all,

i would like to use this opportunity to introduce myself to the community of this very nice board. After being a long-time lurker, I finally decided to give it a try and registered.

I have been enarmored with the miniature painting hobby since 1996, mostly with the GW sort of games. I tried several others, but sadly the player base was not there for prolonged gaming. My current playgroup are very focused on GW and do no want to stray even a single step, fearing that their investment of time and money might be diminished by trying out other things *sigh*

Since about a year my interest in "exotic" tabletops (compared to mainstream lines like GW) has increased. After a short but enjoyable tryst with Flames of War I began to walk into the historic miniature gaming territory. Since a few years I am a regular visitor of the CRISIS and sometimes the TACTICA. I really enjoy seeing all those glorious displays, forever envious of all that space all you guys must have for that giant tables :)

Currently I plan to paint (haha) a SAGA Viking warband, but that project gets derailed by all the other nice figures I found in my storage after moving to a new city...

Right now I do not play any game seriously, but rather enjoy the ability to paint miniatures that I like, instead of feeling forced to "finish the army before the first game".

I am looking forward to some fruitful discussions and a colorful community.

Cheers, Nukleon.

Welcome to the LAF. So I finally whittled you down - can only be to the benefit of both sides. ;)

Rather nice work on the Porks, BTW. Good to see them together after all!

Welcome , dear boy ,
This is a very friendly forum.
A group of happy cavaliers who enjoy painting
and playing . Many have high standards as they are always at it and others
Less gifted as my self can only improve .
Be active and spread the joy.

Keep it up
