Title: Small scale (solo) wargaming, any ideas?
Post by: thebinmann on April 28, 2016, 05:43:46 PM
Hello all

I have finally decided to downsize and am aiming ti have my fantays cut to under half it's current size. I will be aiming for untis of about 5-8 minis as most of my games are solo...

... any way I wondered what rules I should go for. I'm going to start with Mordhiem but cutting the limits in half but wondered if there was anything else out there. I must add that I do really like the MOrdhiem campaign rules, and in some ways as a solo player creating the warbands and then managing htem is perhaps the part I like most in the rules.

Thanks

The blog from a fellow LAFer

He plays Mordheim and WHAA (Warrior Heroes Armies and Adventures) in 10mm. From what I've read, WHAA has great potential as a solo game, so there's that.

Songs of Blades and Heroes is worth a look, the activation system will be good for solo play - the basic version doesn't have a campaign system, but there must be one in one of the many supplements.

The latest supplement for Frostgrave called 'Dark Alchemy' includes a solo campaign.
