Hi guys.
With the coming of SAGA Invasion, I have a shiny new excuse to start another SAGA project.
This time, I will paint a romano-brit force, and the first mini of this new warband is the king Arthur himself, from the Footsore range, with a plastic Fireforge spear.
This mini was a real pleasure to paint :

Great work!
A question on the spear. I've been wondering how thick those are and it appears rather robust. Did you use the 5cm Spears? I am wondering where the 4cm javelins fit in size wise.

Thanks for comments, guys.

For Arthur, I've used a 6cm spear.
But for the light infantry, I will use the 4cm ones.

Well done. He looks great. Lovely work on the shield and the cloak 8)
I've had that figure sitting half finished on a shelf for two years... On one hand it's a great dynamic figure. On the other hand, it's just a little bit flat and some of the anatomy feels a tiny bit off - huge admirer as I am of Bill's work. So I slightly lost interest in it. But your very nice version is my wake-up call to crack on with him!
(Plus 14 of his mounted friends! :'()
(Just noticed your model seems to have a mis-cast/missing right foot. What a shame. Mine's not like that... :()

Thanks, Captain !
I hope to see your own model soon. With your painting, I'm sure it will be cool.
For the miscast on the right foot, you are right.
But as it was a second hand mini (I paid less than 2€ for it), it's ok for me...

Fantastic paintjob.

You are correct, that mini is indeed a pleasure to paint and that is an excellent job! I have him and painted mine as per the description in The Winter King as this mini is one of the few with the knee-length "fish-scale" armor. But I painted my shield simply silver as described in the book and it doesn't quite sit well with me. Your shield is fantastic and much more interesting.
But yea, that figure just about paints itself. I find that there are a very few figures where the paint just seems flow naturally on the figure and this is one of them.
Great job on that

New stuff for my arthurian warband, and as always, the minis come from the Footsore late roman / romano-britons range...

Brilliant paintjobs and lovely choice of colours. I'm in awe.
(And that's although I don't like Footsore's rendition of the fair lady Gwenhwyfar.)

Fantastic! Especially Guenievre.
