News from them this AM:
We found out in the last issue that Tim Barry, the lead sculptor and Art Director at Wargames Factory, had been a naughty boy and sculpted a squad of Late War WW2 Germans in secret. In between bouts of Zombies he's been refining his sculpts. We'll have a lot to show over the next few days but with this submission already at 74%, we are close to having 28mm WW2 in plastic!

can't really say much about quality ... but I really hope this realease will be a bits galore box!
and a crossover with the zombie box seems to be a good idea!

I have been quite scathing about the Romans as I really do feel they are poor and the Brits not much better. Zombies hold no interest for me whatsoever but fair play these do look better at this stage.

Even if it’s all CG render, it does seem like the quality is improving. I think that their sculptors are on a step learning curve. Anyhow, I would really like to see some “cheap hard plastic figures” for WWII. It could bring new people to the hobby, WWII being a popular period at the moment. :)

The only problem with having an SMG arm option in this pack is that your chap ends up toting an MP40 but he's still carrying rifle ammo pouches (I'm assuming that the ammo pouches are moulded on and you don't get any SMG ones).
He's got one magazine's worth, then he's going to have to hit you over the head with it. A small thing, perhaps, but some smart arse* is bound to spot that and laugh at your figures.
*That would be me.
