Title: Sharp Practice Deployment Point Competition launched
Post by: Lardy Rich on May 19, 2016, 11:31:56 AM
Morning all.  Well, the launch of Sharp Practice is pretty much done and dusted now, so I have a bit more time on my hands to get on with the free Army lists and to crack on with my own painting and modelling projects.  I've been having fun painting up some little vignettes for Deployment Points, as  know others have been doing, so I thought it would be fun to have a bit of a competition, both to find the best examples  but also to provide a bit of inspiration for others.
You can read all about it on Lard Island News here:

By way of example, here's a few snaps of my Seven Years War Deployment Points.

Whose figures are the two by the cross?

The Priest by the cross started life as a mediaeval monk, but a bit of green stuff brought him up to 18th Century Priest standard.  The Cantiniere in the white tunic is Foundry from their Prussian range.  I used a dremmel to slightly reconfigure her tunic (leaving brading rather than lapels), but other than that she is straight out of the box.

Just saw this on the Lard Island forum. Great idea. What to do though as I'm looking to use Sharp Practice for ACW and Napoleonic, and a friend also wants to use it with his AWI collection.

There is some interesting stuff in the perry-range (camp, wagons) for ACW. Good idea. For 7yw the black hussar range brings great ideas, better than foundry.

But my favorite is still ECW/TYW, lot of models for the points. But no lists for sharpe practice...

You're right about ECW Dirk, there are so many great figures out there. I have been thinking about Sharp Practice for ECW with groups of pike to the centre of formations and shotte on the flanks. It shouldn't be too hard to convert.
