Ran this game at FLGS a few weeks back. Savage Worlds rules, gnolls by Reaper and WotC and Vikings are all Foundry.

Battle is joined - crazy enough the mother and daughter at the ford, who should have been a give me for the gnolls - escaped and actually survived the game!

Lucky those who had the chance to play on this board.
Savage Worlds is a RPG ruleset, isn't it? Or there's a wargame version? I want to know more about it.
-
Yes, Savage Worlds is an RPG set. They have a free to download skirmish version I think called 'Showdown'. But we didn't use it. We just used the SW combat resilution and Magic system tempered by our years of gaming together and mutual love of a mini game that tells a fun story.
My understanding is that Showdown is quite good.
I've done very similar scenarios using GW's LotR rules also with good results.

Some lovely eye-candy there, thanks for sharing 8)

Very nice those gnolls and hyaenas.
I just realised I own a Reaper knoll without having known what it was.
-
Great looking game and lovely paint jobs all round.
-
Lovely looking terrain and board set-up.
The D&D Chainmail Gnolls are great miniatures. The range as a whole is very good and i just wish that i could track down the last pieces i need for a full set.
-
Lovely. The hills/mountains are great. Where are the houses from?
-
Congratulation very nice setup, I have rarely seen a gaming table that nice in a shop...
cheers Thomas
-
Very nice game. A pleasure for the eyes.
-
Beautiful - for those asking I believe the houses/fencing is 4Ground. They have some excellent viking buildings.

It's a sneaky system, Savage Worlds. Very fast, very effective, great pace, quite addictive, can turn into a skirmish wargame whilst hardly trying, and is singlehandedly responsible for my return to the lunatic slopes of Lead Mountain.
Great-Looking game, Abbner.
-
Yes - buildings and fencing are by 4ground.
I did some lining and highlighting but they are otherwise out of the box. I really like them. Working on the Great Hall now but it's a lot of model and not something one can rush. Especially since I committed myself to the lining:highlighting and there must be a couple linear meters to line.
-
Great Hall!? You're a brave man...I have a half-finished train station sitting on my desk. It's been there for the past three months. I love 4Ground but I'm finding the larger kits to be a bit more than I'm interested in working on!

Superb game with outstanding miniatures and terrain, a joy to view

I actually had a chance to run this game twice in March, the second time in my basement. This time in a 6x8 because I had a few more players. Also I'm very prone to gamer scope-creep. Had to do without the nice roads and rivers from the FLGS.

In this sequence a hill giant is stopped at an ad hoc Viking barricade. The evil sorcerer king then uses his Zombie power to raise the giant. We all agreed he could do so for an extra power point cost. Plus we wanted to use that old Ral Partha undead giant.

These viking fellas sure are having a tough time!

:-*
Love everything about that table! The choice of figures, the painting, the theme, the overall look of the table!!!
Love to have played.
-
I love it!

Great stuff.
I recognize that Witch-King model - I used to have two, but one of the riders disappeared during a house move...
