With all the goblins I've painted ready for action, I figured I needed to paint up some good guys for them to face off against. So I decided to paint some men of Minas Tirith. These are also pretty inexpensive models from the original LotR box set, but they look pretty decent, in my opinion.
I'm a fan of simple paint jobs and this one is no different. A base coat of silver, some details picked out and a black wash and ta-da.

I'm not going to win any awards, but they will look good on the tabletop.
I picked up a bunch of these guys off ebay that had already been painted. I'm working on fixing them now. I'm going to try to make them match this paint scheme without much effort. Stay tuned to see how that turns out.
As always more can be found on my blog. http://gamingandshooting.blogspot.com/2016/05/lord-of-rings-men-of-minas-tirith.html (http://gamingandshooting.blogspot.com/2016/05/lord-of-rings-men-of-minas-tirith.html)

Yes, I am impressed that such a simple method is looking that good. I guess it works well with metal paints.

Nice work on those minis. :)

Thank you all for the kind words.
I have nearly finished fixing the painted models I got off ebay and will be taking some pictures in the near future to share. I think they turned out pretty decently and have added a good number to my painted forces.

I've finished "fixing" the painted models I got off eBay. While not perfect, they will certainly look good enough on the table.

Very nice job on them.
Now, thinking about it, these may just be the kind of figures i'm looking for for GoT...... :)
-
They certainly look the part, very nice indeed! :)

Nice work!
And you reminded me that I have a shedload of those laying arond in some boxes... Maybe it is soon time for expanding my Gondor army... lol

Thanks for the inspiration - I really need to get back to painting my Gondorian army that is languishing on the dining room table gathering dust.

Wow! I am so often inspired by others, I am humbled to hear that I have inspired someone.
Thanks!
Now go get those models out and put some paint on them!
