Just got in from seeing The Legend of Tarzan (2016). Kind of surprised no one else has mentioned it yet.
Lots of inspiration to be had. Obviously very Hollywood, but a decent film.
Was trying to steer clear of DA but going to be really hard now :'(
The movie contained the following forces:
Belgian Force Publique
Mercenaries
Askari (I actually laughed in the theatre when I saw them, look just like Wargames Foundry's colour scheme)
Several African tribes
And a nice train and river steamer.
I guess the timing for Studio Tomahawk's CONGO rules couldn't have been better timed.

I thought about posting my thoughts, but wasn't sure if I should post here or VSF. lol
I've been remiss in my Darkest Africa gaming, but the new movie has inspired me to dust off the figures and start playing again.
I gotta get a river steamer now though!
And I don't have near enough critters! ;D

I saw this movie earlier this week. Fun, fantastic stuff. Christoph Walz was amazing as usual, Jane gets to be a heroine in her own right (plus who doesn't want to see Margot Robbie!), Samuel Jackson gets to have his usual fun as well. Definitely worth watching.

Hey, MaleGriffin, I don't have enough critters neither - and I have over 600! 150 painted I've painted and some acquired already painted. Many to paint, though. Well, those are just for Africa, I do have quite a few other animals. But I don't think my 48 (36 painted) wildebeests will work for the big scene near the end. But they'll have to do. No more!
Despite the components of 'absurdium extraordinarium' in the film, it was an entertaining flick.

Hey Fifteensaway, years ago, my faborite hobby store was D&J Hobbies in Santa Clara Ca.
They had an amazing assortment of goodies from airbrushes to toy zebras. They carried a bunch of 1/48 scale plastic, animals and I bought bunches, not 600, but a lot so between 28mm metal and 1/48 plastic, I could put herds of everything from antelopes to zebras on the table. The slightly larger scale of the plastics was more than offset by the low price and the minimal detail painting required. I wish they were still in business.
I really have to dig everything out of the garage and put on some games.

MG, you do know of Warin15mm's Africa spread, yes? If not, you must check it out. Gorgeous - and I suspect you might recognize a lot his wildlife, maybe.
