Title: Pulp Alley meets Junta

Finally! Pulp Alley returns to my Sunday night gaming group. Not since the adventures of Dakota Smith had we flung Fortune cards and dodged Perils in earnest. GM Joel had a twist on the Pulp action, though, setting his game in the world of the boardgame Junta. We all played factions in a third world Banana Republic, vying for power.

Read my report on the action on my Lead Legionaries blog: http://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2016/07/pulp-alley-junta-style.html

And then, for a more tongue-in-cheek take on the fun, read my buddy Keith's report on his blog:

Enjoy!

Entertaining.  Now you made me look for my copy of Junta.  :(

By the way is that one of those Cigar Box play mats you're using?  Any good?

Cheers
John

Mike,

Read both reports and it sounds like you had a great time! I like the Banana Republic theme, looking forward to seeing more of this campaign.

Always been interested in Junta, but not been able to find a copy. What a great idea.

I believe Junta has been rereleased, because am seeing it at stores and conventions, again. Great multiplayer backstabbing game!

And yes, that is a Cigar Box mat. Very nice, but I wonder about playing on the same layout, essentially, time and again. It is almost like the one we played on is TOO specific and detailed. That said, my friend's solution was to buy several...!

Thanks for the kind words and looks at my blog...

I well remember having good times playing Junta back in the day. Great idea for Pulp Alley...and sounds like a great time playing it as well!

I agree about the "specific" look of that particular Cigar Box game mat, but certainly approve of your friend's solution!

Good job, Mike...look forward to more reports.   :D

OK guys, after reading this thread,
what edition of Junta do I buy?
Amazon USA has a number of different ones.
Thanks for the help.
