Working on old Aly Morrison sculpted Samurai for a future Frostgrave set up, I decided to swap a few heads and convert a few.
One got out of hand and became a baboon samurai type thing(Pictures explain more)
Not what I planned, but I like it!!

Still my favourite Samurai sculpts.
Plenty more on the painting desk :)
Should be a complete Oriental/Okko/old school Citadel game at a Partizan next year ;)
Also managed to get a box of Oriental Hobgoblins that you sculpted too.

Oriental Frostgrave with a definite Okko/Oriental twist.
Starting to scratchbuild Bunraku soon(once some more painted)

Great conversion work. Love the snake on the spear. Some of my favorite ever Samurai.

Most of the miniatures were inspired by Kuniyoshi the Warrior-prints by Basil William Robinson.

Another inspiration was...Thirty-six ghosts by Yoshitoshi (Yoshitoshi was a pupil of Kuniyoshi,He also made some woodcuts covering the Satsuma rebellion )

That's the plan, a Paul/Lewis production.
Plan is for a Partizan, not sure which, depends on getting from sunny Scotland to Newark

Some progress with painting, all need finished/varnished/based.
Managed to find an Oriental Ogre and some Samurai zombies too :)

Looking good...
The cherryblossom on the crest is a nice touch...
It's nice to see the undead painted... I wish I had kept mine now :?
The ogre looks perfect with the red skin ( its a very early Jes Goodwin figure I think he was still freelancing at the time)

Know the Samurai are available, but prefer the original 'soft' lead to convert!
Also have the Oriental Hobgoblins too, will post pics when underway.
( currently been sidetracked by Citadel gangsters though ::) )
