I’m new to the forum here and I should have introduced myself earlier.
I’m Fro (but not right now since my hair is cut) and a have a problem with Save vs. Shiny Shiny Miniatures. I keep failing… I think I found this place through Matakishi’s web site and then lurked for a long time.
I am a former 4DKAY player with Rogue through 4th edition. With 4th, I got mad at GW and almost sold everything on ebay till I found No Limits and 5150 (but not before selling the RT SM Beakies I had. dang).
With the advent of the intertubes, my wargaming awareness has expanded and I feel enlightened. I have some Warmachine but have slacked on that. I built my own 4x6 table in the garage, but clutter has encroached and I don’t feel like it belongs to me anymore (I keep putting the garden tools in the shed, but they keep appearing in the garage).
My latest Fail vs. Shiny has been Secrets of the Third Reich. This is the first product line where I feel I’ve substantially completed painting the minis to a point where I would be comfortable playing others. Now I need to find “others”. Hopefully in the San Jose part of the Bay Area. Sounds like a small contingent at Game Kastle.
I’m currently scoping 28mm Samurai (see, I have a problem) and want to find a way to compare:
West Wind
Kingsford
Perry
TAG
Curteys
I don’t want BIG BATTLES, but more of a Martial Arts Skirmish/Cinematic style that allows for solo (like 2HW). I have Kashindan and some others that are freebies, however I may need to write these.
The VSF section looks like a lot great stuff, but who plays near me? Sometimes I feel so lonely. lol
Sorry for the rambling.
Fro.

Thanks for all the kind words. It seems like we sometimes live in a lonely world. lol
I'm married too, and my wife is actually fine with my hobby.
It seems to me from the size comparison charts I've seen (the following are not historically coincendent) Perry, TAG, Curteys, and West Wind are fairly comparable.
This forum has been a great inspiration, and would like to thank all of those who've made contributions.
