There's a Fire and Fury pike and shot variant here:

Thanks for both answers. I know I tried the perfect captain rules but had trouble understanding them and sorting them out. Never heard about fire and fury.

Fire and Fury is originally intended for ACW, so it might seem an odd recommendation for 16th Century, but it's a very robust and well tried rule set that does seem capable of adaption to other periods. You'd need the original rules to follow the play sheet shown at the link. There's also a Regimental F&F which downscales the rules but I'm not sure of the differences or how valid they are.
Units are made up of 4/5 figure bases, a variable number of bases representing a brigade. Attrition is represented by base removal affecting performance, so a 6 base unit might be shown as 6/4/2 as a small label on the back of the brigade command stand, where 6 represents Fresh, 4 is Normal and 2 is Spent. An additional factor of Elite command can be added.
I'm working it for a Tudor vs Valois 1544 setting, where the brigade is a company. I think the play sheet needs a few changes, but I'm familiar with the Fire and Fury ACW original and really enjoy the rules, so from my perspective it's worth a bit of experimentation. As it involves Henry VIII I think I'll call it Fat & Furious :)

Field of Glory: Renaissance is a pretty good set - better than the ancients set.
It covers Tercios and the like pretty well.
I still quite like DBR in 'condensed' scale for large battles; works much better than 'normal' scale.

'Pike and shotte' from Warlord is another option - Black powder for the period. It has a different rules for sub units which some people like (and others dislike) but gives a quick game with large numbers of figs on the table.

Anchor of Faith by Piquet works well for this time period. I haven't tried them yet but Baroque the new rule set from the guys who made Impetus works for the period as well.

Another vote for Perfect Captain. The thing about these is that it is a comprehensive series of rules from small actions (play as you paint your figures you dont have to wait for an entire army), then larger armies game called Spanish Fury (which also has an ECW variant). They also have a system called battlefinder where you can make your own mini campaigns, then there is a Campaign system, a Seige system and a new one called voyages where you can do some sailing and fighting in the new world. And of Course Sail their naval game. And if you are really nuts they have a little mini game called duel, wher you can fight one on one, a perfect little game for using with Actions (the small unit game) where you can challenge your opponent to a duel.
Great stuff, with fantastic graphics and a really cleaver system.
With Khusrsan creating figures for the late Wars of Religion (the figs are fantastic 15mm) there is not reason not to jump in to all this goodness.

I'll chime in (again) with a recommendation for Irregular Wars - a small battle set of rules. Each base represents a company of men, with around 15 bases to an army. Very much for this era, the core rules comes with many many army lists, pretty much covering the whole of the globe.

I recently donwloaded for free a rulesset called Liber Militum. It is a simplified rules set of the more complex Tercios.
I have not played them yet, but since they are free, I downloaded them.
See http://elkraken.es/released/en/tercios/
They seem a nice set of rules to me, from the first look at them.

The Perfect Captain's Spanish Fury is all you need... And more.

My favorite is DBR. ANd when I am thinking 15 mm Renaissance whether Italian wars or Mughal or wars of Religion I think DBR
IMHO much superior rule set to FOG although shrouded in classic Barker speak..
And quite old.

I recommend Irregular Wars as well. IMO, they are one of the best written rule sets of any genre. They are concise, there is no ambiguity, and they might be the first rules I've ever played where I never had to go online asking for clarification.

Who publishes them? Can they be purchased?

I got my copy through Amazon - just £12
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1494483467/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1472885906&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=irregular+wars&dpPl=1&dpID=61G1z4atDJL&ref=plSrch
Also available as a PDF probably from wargames vault

I bought the PDF and never looked back. The author was clever I think, to create a professional black & white layout that looks fantastic printed on a regular printer and stuck in a binder.
