Title: Gold Panners from Copper Mine Miniatures [TRADE]
Post by: Richard on September 22, 2016, 08:07:10 PM
I have commissioned a pair of Gold panners from Meridian Miniatures based on photographs on True West Magazines Facebook page. I have added a couple of details like the guns and knives to make them more fun, the multi barrel guns are based on period pieces as well.

First chap

Second Chap

The master will hopefully be with me in the next couple of days and once I have a few other bits sorted out will go off for master casting. So hopefully they will be on sale in the next couple of months.

Based on the size of the finger in the photo it is abundantly clear your sculptor really, really messed up.  These aren't in 15 mm!    :o

Oh, sure, you're going to cave and leave the sculpts in this size just to please these "one true scale" lot rather than correct your sculptor before casting them in the "one proper scale".   lol

Great looking figures.
I have not done much with my western stuff in years.
But I really plan to buy these figures when they are for sale.

Yep me too, some musings and conversations over the weekend have inspired me to press on with a long time planned Apache game next year and these are a must have.

Let us know as soon as they are available. What else do you have planned?

I will post here when I have them available, I will be mainly carrying on with my VSF figures but have a few other ideas to fit in along the way. To be released at the similar time as these are Mechanical Steam Ponies, which were intended as pack animals? for these, but I am now doing them separate.

I have seen several pictures I fancy getting done so it will come down to cash flow, I am afraid.

Group picture a mixture of figures:
My 2 are slotted whilst the rest have metal lump bases that effect the height.

These are now available to buy at www.coppermineminiatures.co.uk (http://www.coppermineminiatures.co.uk)

I am however thinking about a couple of other figures / characters to go with them based on the pictures below.

The chap standing up I intend changing slightly to be leaning on a long handle shovel.

This chap I intend to have on steam ponies that I already have and include the kit on a second steam pony. For those who do not want a steam pony the character will be sold separate with the with the kit to put on someone else's mules.

To produce these if there is any interest I will run a crowdfunding project on my new website www.copperprospector.co.uk (http://www.copperprospector.co.uk) and will need to raise about £650 to cover the sculpting and some fees. I would include the first 2 above as add-ons in that project, any thoughts?
Regards
Richard

Consider them ordered. :)

Good Idea about doing the other two. Happy to support their production although I would personally not have use for steam mules.

My one concern would be  how do you know he would fit someone else's mule?

Thank you for your order, that has crossed my mined it is the issue of duplication and increased cost, but then I can use them in the future. I'll look into it.

I have had a quote from the sculptor and will be running my own crowdfunding for the extra figures in the new year. The chap on the mule will come on either a steam pony or a mule along with an appropriate pack animal (steam pony or mule).

I will try and set the page up over the next few weeks and launch it once ready.

In the mean time merry christmas and happy new year.

I am still working up a few more figures and a crowdfunding project for them here is a teaser.
First up some scenic masters for the project with painted display copies of the first 2 panners.

and the project picture or header image.

This project will initially be for the figures in the picture including the pack mules or steam ponies. I'll started a new thread when I have launched this project.

Old thread I know. These gold panners look great CM. In a pinch, the first figure could be used as a hipster with a pan full of cookies.  lol
