HINT Nakamura Tower was successfully funded via a Kickstarter. Hint (abbreviation for Human Interface Nakamura Tower) is a board game taking place in near future (2040), in a cyberpunk world that is dominated by cyber technologies and the dirty tactics of mighty corporations and powerful governments.

A very good KS campaign, in addition a company with weekly updates since the KS and very good customer communication. I received my pledge more or less on time and was positively blown away by the sheer quality of the product.

Very crisp cast metal minis with almost no flash. Great fitting too. In addition solid rule books and gaming material, I have not played the game yet, but I definitely like what I got so far.

The above minis are from the 3rd faction, Nakamura Tower’s defence system gone wild after a virus upload. From left to right: Muramasa Drone, AI Avatar, Masamune Drone; bases are from Sedition Wars and Micro Art.
More soon!

They look great. Did you go for the full set?
The HINT figures are simply stunning, the sculpts and casting is on a par with Infinity and will blend seamlessly with that range.

Yup, only a couple of minis are missing.
I am afraid I like them even more than Infinity... But I fully agree they are very nicely fitting to Infinity or AvP minis.
-
:) ooooooh. Shiny!
I got mine but haven't been able to paw through it yet.
Soon, my precious. Soon.
-
They look good! I really like those drones. :-*

This is the first KS in a long time that I'm kicking myself for not backing. I even sat there obsessively checking the late backer every week, filling the cart and telling myself I didn't need it. Clearly I was wrong and will need to correct that once these hit retail.

Lol, don't worry, better than me, I backed to many that came out under par or as a disappointment...
(Sedition Wars, Mars attacks etc)

Superb painting of course but I really like the design of that first drone 8) 8)
Would it be available for normal retail?
cheers
James
-
Very nice painting!
Drones look especially cool.
Can you please tell what colors did you use on them?
It is surprising that there no one except you showing painted HINT miniatures, considering that there is a plenty of forum members backing this project.
Can`t wait to my pledge to arrive so i can paint them too. :)

Just primed white, then some light grey and white again, extremly simple.
The light grey was also used with a sponge on the edges

Splendid, thank you :)
cheers

Will try something similar on mine drones when they finally arrive.
This version of white gives them that nice "techno white" look.

3 more minis...
Another Drone and
(http://www.adpublishing.de/Tomo_Kosuda_n_Harvey_Scott_f.jpg)
Tomo Kosuda and Harvey Scott of the Übermensch gang.
With these 2 minis and 2 drones I can try out the 1st Mission "Infecting the Nakamura Tower".
Let's see how the game plays...

Excellent paintjobs as always. Also cool idea to use Sedition Wars bases, right? These are also waiting on my desk to be painted soon. Harvey Scott has been on my 'want' list for a looooong time now, love that model.

I'm with You. I didn't have the funds, when the KS ran and now I see that I have to pay ~double or more for the same content :(
-
It was the best run KS campaign that I have been part of and the quality of what was produced is exceptional.
I hope the guys behind it cleared the funds necessary to get the retail operation stocked and up and running.
They have already issued out a few new figures (available right at the end of the KS fulfilment) and started teasers for the next phase of the game.
I would expect to see that going on KS next year.

I'll second that.
Been short on spare time lately but I managed to paw through the figs, tiles, counters, etc, the other day and am very pleased I backed this one. What a KS campaign should be, IMO.
-
I got my set Agis, couldn't agree more about the company's approach to this KS. Lovely miniatures and your paint I ng as ever does some very nice sculpts justice.
-
Thanks everyone, and great that I kicked up a nice conversation about HINT.
Have any of you tried the rules yet, I wanted to do a solo game last weekend to get into it (that was the reason to paint the two drones and Übermensch members) but find the rules a bit difficult to get. The examples at the end of the book seem more helpful than the rules themselves…
;)
I also mailed the HINT guys and asked where I can discuss rules questions or address them "official".
No Response within a week.
Did you encountered similar "difficulties"?
-
Don't get me started on PING's communication....it is not good.
I am not as positive as you guys about this Kickstarter. I think that during the last 6 months communications and related actions were really poor, wrong and sometimes I think they simply lied. And mailing them works…sometimes…I mailed them four times and received three replies. But the facts they stated are simply not true, so that left me sour.
I played two scenarios and know the rules quite well by now. What rules do you have questions about?
-

That is a shame. From my experience their communication (one to one) has been excellent. I made several requests for extra & duplicate game components in my pledge that were always well handled and responsive.
Then when the courier service messed up my delivery they were very quick to resolve the problem and direct mail me (by a much more expensive service) a replacement.
-

Great, I will try the 1st scenario and pester you then! ::) ;) ;)
-
The first scenario is a bit lame, honestly. With us it was over in three turns without any actual action. Harvey and Tomo simply moved to the objective room and Tomo kicked ass in Cyberspace. Done. It went fast and we learned how Cyberspace goes, but as a mission it was dull.

After watching and enjoying Ghost in the Shell I got drawn to HINT again. So a good opportunity to finish Shoko Takayama of the Übermensch faction and an incredible good Major stand in.
Shoko Takayama (IMO also a good Batou stand in after some more cybernetic enhancements...)
Major Motoko Kusanagi (Stand in for the HINT Twins - Mei-Lin Mayfair 2.0 mini from Statuesque Minis)
more as always on my site: http://www.adpublishing.de/html/hint.html
-
Very nice painting both on Shoko and Major!
I have same Shoko sitting on my painting desk for a long time and still can`t decide about painting scheme for him. :)
-
Nice painting and nice figures.
I would have gone with the Hasslefree pair for GITS though ^__^.
-
Not that it's any surprise but a lovely job on those miniatures.
-
Thanks folks! :)
@ Ultravanillasmurf: I also considered the Hasslefree NOT GitS minis, but since I already had the beautiful Stauesque and HINT mini, I simply painted them.
-
During my last vacation I was in Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing. Especially Hong Kong reminded me a lot of the Ghost the Shell movie (which I liked).
No wonder since some locations in the movie came from there.
Anyway, it reignited my Cyberpunk interests again and I finished another HINT mini:
The Cyborg Hunter Mercenary (small conversion, bow from an Infinity mini, the rest is HINT),
when I 1st saw the sketch during the KS I immediately thought - future Green Arrow! So I just HAD to convert him accordingly.
More on my site: http://www.adpublishing.de/html/hint.html
-
Well executed and very inspiring.
I have the hint miniatures assembled, but they still wait for paint and hide in the background of my consciousness (paint us, paint us).
-
(http://www.adpublishing.de/assets/images/Ubermensch_2.jpg)
The Übermensch crew is finally done.
I painted the second Oneda twin (again a Statuesque mini, since I did not like the original minis, too brittle and thin…).

Ghost in the Shell stand-Ins: Batou, a Tachikoma and Major Motoko Kusanagi
The Tachikoma is a slightly too small model, 1/72 plastic. Still works for me.
