-
Space gnolls really is a nice idea though. :D

Awesome idea 8)

I thought 'I'll tell those Lead Adventurers all about our Sci-Fi weapons', but you(http://)'re already on it!
It's an experiment, to make some Sci-Fi/Grimdark weapons that fit our Frostgrave Cultists, and we're pretty happy how they've turned out. And of course they fit our Frostgrave Soldiers, Gnolls and Barbarians as well.

I like most of them with the exception of the big pistol leftmost in the picture. I mean that thing has a bore larger than the grenade launcher. What does it shoot, Eggs?
-
Gnolls.....in.....Spaaace.

What have you got against egg guns? Such prejudice. lol
-
Knew I should patented gnolls in space lol
-
Gnolls in Spaaace was my first though I had after seeing weapons.
Do you have more of them?
How much parts will be in one set of weapons? Will there be enough guns for 20 minis?
(BTW I too think that egg gun is weakest part of the set.)
-
Look interesting. Some sort of generic autorifle/slugthrower/AK47 would be good.
-
My, those look promising. Lots of kitbashing potential there.

Looks like an energy weapon to me (don't see an obvious magazine) and since there are no real-world examples of zap guns to go by, who's to say they won't have prodigiously huge bores? If it's (say) a plasma pistol it might need a wide, thick barrel for the magnetic containment field doohickeys that shape and aim the bolt. Even if it does use physical projectiles, it might be a gyrojet or bolter-style weapon, both of which are firing fairly large miniature rockets - although there the question of how many shots it gets per clip comes up.

Or it could just shoot eggs.
In the grim darkness of the far future, there are only weaponised chickens.

Slugblasterfrom slugterra :D

No doubt created by the Tyranids.

Well played, North Star. 8) A nice set that acknowledges what we want to do with those wonderfully useful plastic minis.
I like the BF-Plasma Egg thrower. Really like the MG, too... :-*

In the weapons sprues is the thing next (right) to the knives a club, a torch, a coagulater (Bugs hate those things) or...
-
Wow, that's awesome, and you might get me back into 28mm! This allows for so many cool possibilities for *cough* Rogue Trader and its modern cousins, that Im severly tempted.
Just be careful this might prove to be so successful you might soon be no. 1 model supplier in F&SF minis...;)
-
It's like a instant shop for a stealer cult, apart from the pure strain gribbleys.

Wow, FGU Space Opera reference? There's a blast from the past.

You are welcome. lol

Ah, I was all excited until I saw they weren't available yet. Anyone know when they go for sale? That space gnoll looks better than the fantasy ones.
-
Fires eggs does it? Oh my God! We have a war of nutrition.
-
The weapons look fine, they're very reminiscent of the pig iron/colbalt weapons, but if you do any more, please make the heads smaller. They look way too big on the cultist bodies to me.
-
Excellent idea.
Maybe a picture of sci-fi barbarians before the end of the nickstarter?
:-)
-
So are these available now as I need to order a few sets NOW!!! 😆
-
Available Friday. I'm loath to make them available until I have them in my hands, contract resin casters being what they are.
-
These are intriguing. I'd been secretly hoping some plastic kits would have come along for Rogue Star as well...I suspect that's not the case.

I believe Nick said that a while ago on the actual Rogue Star thread, I would look through it for you but I am short on time this evening.
Essentially no plastics planned for this due to the model count for the game. He felt it wasn't viable for this one.
-
Yeah, I just feel that's a shame because a generic 28mm plastic kit for traders, pilots, mechanics, neer-do-wells, and bounty hunters would have been fantastic (and I think there'd be a huge market for a well done modular plastic kit).
-
I think a mercenaries/pirates kit would do well, but in the interim I would absolutely love to be able to buy a sprue each of the soldiers, barbarians, cultists and gnolls along with some of these weapons ;)

Seconded. Single plastic sprues with the conversion packs would be great.
-
Sounds like a solid plan. :)
-
Northstar is ptuting up single sprues on the website as we speak. :D Works for me!
-
This does look really cool. Look forward to the official announcements.
-
Nick, any word? I still don't see them on the site.

That link does not work for me... well it goes to an empty page.
I must admit I'm interested in this conversion as well. Loads of options with the 2 human frostgrave sets and sic-fi.
I'm thinking these might be good 'ratskins or cursed earth/survivor style figs' for a various setting as well.
-
I've backed the nickstarter so maybe I've been cookied so I can get to it.
Try following the link for Rogue Star from the main Northstar page, then down at the bottom of that is a link for the Special Nickstarter Deal at the bottom.
-
Deleted, wrong thread!
-
Just had Facebook notification that they are now in store. ;)
-
Pretty cool set of sprues.
If these had been out before I made my Cawdor Necromunda gang (I ended up using the official figs), I might would have gone this route. Nice sprues regardless.

And there they are!
