Title: The Wild Bunch, as in Sam Peckinpah
Post by: The Angle on February 10, 2009, 08:27:39 PM
I'm looking for four figures to represent the 'heroes' in a game based on the final, incredible gunfight from Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch. I thought that there'd be something in the Wargames Foundry Old West line that would work, but none of them have quite the gringo/filibustero look that I'm hoping for. I could make them work, but if something else out there is closer, I'd like to find it. Any suggestions?

The Wild Bunch takes place around 1900, so the days of cowboys are gone. For the early part of the film you could use soldiers form Old Glory Pauncho Villa line. For the end, you can use any of the fine manufacturers out there making Cowboys, with just a bit of tweeking to replace their revolvers with .45 automatics.

Outpost Wargames Services also sell Pancho Villa period figures in 25/28mm

I love that film!!  Once gamed the beginning gunfight in 54mm, using 54mm figs and modified 1/35 scale figures.  Good fun was had all round.  :D
