Title: 1813 Calpe Saxon Grenadiers 28mm
Post by: PAULSPENCE on November 05, 2016, 08:40:15 AM
Bonjour Chaps,

I noticed yesterday that there had been an entry on Von Peter's blog - see below - in August 2016 showing some new Calpe Saxon Grenadiers.

https://vonpeterhimself.wordpress.com/

Scroll down to find the Saxons.

They look really great and I've asked Calpe when we might be able to order them.

I'm a great fan of Westfalia Saxons too, just finished painting my first 6 battalions of their's, but Calpe does excellent figures too and a variety of units is always great.

Cheers,

Paul

I've gone with Westfalia for my Saxons and will stick to that manufacturer because I prefer Paul Hicks' sculpting style to Peter Fitzgerald's, but you can't fault Calpe for historical accuracy and extensive coverage of a given subject.

Looking at some of Von Peter's previous posts on his blog and pics from the Westfalia FB page, it looks like both ranges are fairly compatible in terms of size, bulk, and general anatomy.
