I used a modified version of Donnybrook for the game. See all of the action at the Quindia Studios (http://quindiastudios.blogspot.com/) blog...

You sir, are an inspiration!  Love the comic format, what could be better than nazis versus cave trolls and orcs!   Thanks for sharing.

Early eighties? Dragon magazine IIRC or was it White Dwarf?

Fantastic stuff, a great & (very entertaining) way to write up an AAR.

One of the best comic AAR's I've seen!  Great stuff!

Thanks, guys...

It was a refight of a game originally presented in The Strategic Review #5 in 1975 and later reprinted in The Best of the Dragon Vol I (where more people probably saw it - SR is hardcore grognard territory). It was one of the first wargames I ever encountered and I have wanted to put it on the table ever since...

The best of Dragon Vol 1, that's where I saw it, it might still be floating around somewhere in the garage.

Best of is where I saw it too. Long gone now during the Great Purge leading to the divorce, but fond memories of the magazine and being a kid nonetheless. Very few fond memories of the troll I was held captive by for 25 years and cost me 3000 gold coins to get rid of.
