I'd recommend giving it a go ... much improved over 1st edition with the changes.

Awesome table!
Is that a real life bar in your gaming room?
Also 'awesome'

Its definitely worth a try but there is quite a bit of noise in the community about poor play testing which didn't pick up some of the more fundamental impacts of rule changes due to interactions. It's 80% improvements and 20% cockups at the moment. It'll get better.
The core game is still solid though.
Played last night and still enjoyed it!

I haven't had a chance to give V2 a go yet, what are "some of the more fundamental impacts of the rule changes due to interactions" that the community is not happy with?

One is the new officer activation extra dice. Not the core rule itself, but it doesn't say that you can or cannot use the extra orders to then activate other officers, cascading/chaining the multiple activations.
To me that is an abuse of the core rule, but it doesn't say anything in the rules about it.
I think there are a few things like this, but IMO they mostly impact the tournament players. For me and my group we only play for fun with historical or fictional scenarios, so no problems for us. That being said, there are groups around us that seem to play every game system in such a way that their primary approach is tactics through rule loopholes and obscurity - much of thise loopholes being ridiculous ... letter of the law vs spirit of the law.
One of the several reasons I was so turned away from CoC was that those groups ran games at local cons and I played in a few and it was just laughable how the system played out in that setting.
Anyways ... nuff rambling from me. I'm extremely happy with v2 for Bolt Action

A fully stocked bar eh!
Two good hobbies rolled into one.
Yes, V2 is still fun.
Still playing my games right up to the last turn, and thus still exciting!
Which is what playing games is all about, correct?
