New toys arrived today in the mail!

With a little cleanup, these two will go to casting right after the Holidays. The Alternate turret and tracks will be with me in a week.
I will need to start getting a hard count on people interested in the first batch. I'll post additional pics when the alternate turret arrives and I'll get a count for each tank.

Already a beauty! 8)
-
Looks grand, I'll be more than happy to exchange some hard earned drinking vouchers for a rear drive Ausf M. :-*
-
Gimme, gimme gimme!
You were going to stick it on your site for pre-orders right?
-
Looks good 8)

At the risk of sounding like that familiar voice from the back of the car, "are we nearly there yet?"
(Are you still putting a pre-order/reserve button on this forum?)
-
Is that the M51 Super Sherman? Sexy!
-
yip ill take 1
-
I'm just awaiting the arrival of the Panther F stye turret masters, then I'll post a reserve button
I want to make sure I have all the parts at the casters before anything else. I expect the parts to be here this week.
FYI- M-51 sherman just shipped to casters. I can place a reserve order button for that as well if folks are interested.
-Brent
-
Tanks for sharing. ;)
-
stunning
-
Pre-Order button posted here:
http://company-b-models-and-miniatures.myshopify.com/blogs/news/1-56-panzer-e50m-project
$10 reserves the model and goes toward the final price. If something catastrophic happens...like the master implodes, or the east coast sinks into the Atlantic, there will be a full refund.
First option is the standard variant. Second is rear drive with the Panther F style turret.
I now have all the parts, and this model is going out to production next weekend!
-Brent
-
Well that's my name down for the one right now. You were aiming at $40 right? :)
-
$40 for one tank yes...
The resin shop that is casting these just finished up casting more of our armored RCW Train Engine which is another large model with a lot of metal parts. Based on that pricing, we will certainly not be at more that $40 retail. :)
-Brent
-
Ok, deposit deposited, warming up the airbrush - permission to get unreasonably excited sir?
(That's a rear drive M for me, in case in my frenzy I clicked on the wrong thing - don't think I did but with all the jigging & sqealing I wouldn't put money on it ;D)
-
Pulled the trigger on the pre-order lol
-
also pre ordered one (E-50M)
Any chance to get both turrets with 1 hull?
-
two turrets: Yes...
I'll know the exact cost in a few weeks when the kits are cast, but I will get extras of all the parts of rspecial requests as well as any unfortunate shipping accidents.
Also, anyone from outside the US may want to see if there is anything else from the company B lineup they would want, and I can then co-ordinate shipping with those items. That would save on shipping a bit.
-
Nearer the date, and once I've an idea on shipping, etc, aye I'll probably have a swatch at your store. That, or just bung on another E-50 if there's spare if I need to bring up the cost a bit. :)
Hmn, some extra tracks may be handy as an alternative to the Tiger II tracks I've been using (that and they'd be a good basis for post-1940s Axis vehicles).
-
I'm literally sculpting a lot of small odds and ends right now in Zbrush. All types of ammunition specific crates for US, Japanese and German vehicles, Sake Barrels, bedrolls.
Spare tracks links is something I can probably tackle as well. Individual links and small sections from the E50 to start. Maybe some Panther links too.
-Brent
-
Any update on the state of this at all? ::)
-
Indeed, a little 'where are we at' would be greatly appreciated, with the level of excitment for this subject I'm projecting... people are beginning to stare.
-
Funny as I was only thinking about this in the weekend
(Playing WOT)
-
Masters are with the caster. He's breaking down the molds this week for the metal parts and the resins.
I order models from him in batches of 30. So I am waiting to see if we can include both sets of tracks and turrets in a single kit, or if I'll just get 30 kits of the front drive kit and 30 of the rear drive.
I've allocated the funding to take care of all the molds and kits, so it's now just a matter of waiting for them to finish. and buying boxes for 30+ kits...
-Brent
-
sweet thanks Brent :)
-
Thanks for the update, great stuff.
-
Update:
Hoping to have prices solidified this week on the molds. Quick poll...would you want options for both turrets and tracks in one kit? or just two separate kits?
Right now I'm thinking I will stock the full run of 30 each on the variants.
-Brent
-
Personally I'm only currently after the Ausf M, so wouldn't need the other turret (I'd say that it would depend how much it added to the price - but for me, each of the different turrets is linked with different drive systems - front for the schmalterm variant & rear for the M).
-
I'm primarily wanting the Ausf. M as well, though having spare stuff is always useful. Personally if I'm in for the E-75 I'd also be picking up spare tracks if they're available for some conversions. Is there a ballpark price comparison between two separate kits compared to a single one?
-
I'd be keen on both turrets if a option (not worried about front/rear drive sprockets)
-
As a side note, any of these parts could possibly be available by themselves. The hulls, front drive track, rear drive tracks, turrets, etc.
Once I have the mold costs, I can figure that out. The only limitation is that my supplier prefers I use up the molds on a single order, basically 30+ pulls of each mold at a time.
As a side note, the Panther F turret with 76mm gun and extra armor should be in the company B shop by this weekend.
-Brent
-
These are now in Production!
Each model will be $45. So for everyone that has put a deposit, your cost is now $35 plus shipping.
For everyone that ordered, please send me an email with the Subject E-50M if you plan on ordering more than one model.
I do have the alternate rear wheel drive tracks and "F" Turret being cast at the same time. So, if you would like that model as well, or would be interested in just the alternate tracks and turret, please let me know. A set of just the tracks and turret would be about $15 plus shipping or alternately, the full tank kit would be the same as the standard model.
Shipping will probably start at $22 due to the size of the model. Dual models shouldn't be much more, and any international orders can combine with any orders from the Company B shop to save some costs.
-
(https://m.popkey.co/fffc31/g3345_f-maxage-0.gif)
I suppose the Panther turret could be adapted for one of the Rubicon or Warlord plastic kits with no issue. I assume that they're selling the tracks/ turrets as only the one kit, as I wouldn't mind filching an extra set or two of the tracks for future projects. Would you be offering only the alternative tracks as part of this, or the ones which come with the E-50M?
Yeah there is always a git who wants to be picky.
-
Great! Now I may be being a little dense, I pre ordered, but am not currently in need of anything else - should I still email confirmation to you (I was after a rear drive Ausf M)? Are you going to invoice us directly or is it going through your store?
-
I will email/invoice everyone that pre-ordered. So if you put money down, we can communicate once I start that process.
As far as selling bits and pieces. Yes. Once everyone has their full set claimed, I can offer bits and pieces to those who want them. I think the best for that is to just put your request in on the invoices I send out. A few folks wanted full sets of the Alternate model...so there will be a few sets of each track option and turret available as well. Not many, but there will be "some"
For me, I know I want to model both options for my collection, so there's an extra set of standard tracks right there!
-Brent
-
Ah right, actually do you have a comparison of the two different types of tracks available at all? :)
-
Are we due to receive these emails at some point this week or so?
-
Yes. The model is in casting...so I'm waiting of them to get the kits completed and in the mail to me before I say "lets' go"
I also still need to inspect the casting...check for issues, etc. Though, I've used this shop on a lot of items already, so I expect everything to be smooth sailing.
They also just shipped the last installment of our Panther F turrets for Company B stock on Monday. So they should be 100% on this for the next week or so.
-Brent
-
an...E-50!!!
*THROWS WALLET AT YOU*
Keep it, its yours. just GIMME GIMME GIMME
-
Uh...it's actually two E-50's :D
And now that I'm fully versed in this 3D sculpting thing...many more to come. Though I'm finishing a Train right now... not too mention the project has totally side tracked me from my GiJoe vehicle projects...
-Brent
-
Latest news. The E50 tanks (both versions) are in production and kit casting for pre-orders will most likely be completed by the end of next week.
As soon as the first batch is shipped to me, I'll post another update.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to this immensely.

Hmn, out of curiosity, whatever happened to this?
-
...I just felt a tingle in a special place...my wallet
-
Ah, the Lowe.
That is our joint project with JTFM. We mastered the E-10 and E-25 for him and this was part of that package. I think he did some additional detailing work as well. That was a few years ago, and the print was medium resolution (and still cost $$$) 3D printing has improved and gotten much cheaper since then as the E50 was half the price at high resolution for two full sets of parts!
I can pester him if the Lowe is ready, or about to be ready.
And for those wondering... The E50 will ship this month. What other tans should we put out next? I see the Ratte is being tackled (I have CAD of this at 1/285) Too big for my taste. I was thinking the Panzer 38D and variants.
-
And for those wondering... The E50 will ship this month.
Please tell me this means I can expect an invoice in my email inbox soon!
As to 38t variants - the Waffentrager versions are all pretty interesting & there is the insane looking 280mm mortar carrier (I've used a pic of the Amusing Hobby kit - I've got an actual photo of one somewhere, buggered if I can find it - will post when I do - with the mortar in the stowed position it looks like a rocket propelled Katchen).
-
I think Jeff at JTFM said he was considering the 38(t) and 38(d) (or well at least the former, then I pondered on how simple it'd be to leap onto extending the tracks a bit).
38 (d), Panzer II ausf J, Panther Waffentrager, Panzer Ferry... Addon kits for existing models like flak turrets, bulldozer blades, engineer vehicles. Spare barrels, tracks and the like are useful too, but maybe a bit too niche. Ah, and to bring it back around to the topic, conversions for the E-50/75 - like a Jagd variant or alternative turrets (but I suppose those maybe a bit iffy as they're the realms of fiction).
I suppose other whifs may be out of the question, as again, too small a market? There's a lot of cool stuff on this page:
http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/goodies/Tanks-Prototypes.php
I assume most people are buying this stuff for 28mm wargaming. There's probably a fair few vehicles from the Bolt Action army books which don't have models out there (at least judging by the German and Japanese books).
Heh, and aye, I await the email. I wouldn't mind some extra tracks (or hell if it comes to it another E-75 if those aren't available) myself. :)
-
Have you recieved the E-50 castings yet (& how are they looking)? Really have a yen to get to work on this one, hopefully soon?
-
The production run on 40+ full kits (both sets of tracks and turrets) is complete and being shipped to me, so I hope to have updates, final invoices and photos in a week or so.
FYI, this may actually be part of the Company B lineup sooner rather than later. So you should be able to add anything to the order via the CompanyB website to help on shipping.
I'm also already looking at making the Flak Turret, Radar turret, and Jagdpanther Type variant on the tracks :D.

Cheers for the update, it's much appreciated, I look forward to seeing the turret variants.

*piddles with excitement* hurry uuuuup

Picture of the final kit! Resin and metal parts. I should have these in stock by the end of the week.

Looking great, can I (& the others who pre paid a deposit) expect an invoice in my inbox soon?
-
Ooh, keep us posted on those variants. I'd like to see some of that weird stuff the guys in 1/35th scale have access to (i.e. Panzer 46's range). :)
-
that looks awesome. I'd love one
-
Ok..the shipment of the kits should be with me in a few days. I will be processing payments through Company B and sending out invoices next week.
Now, everyone that wants additional items from Company B, you can add your request to your order, and we will send out an invoice with the totals, minus the reserve fees for those that pre-ordered. Respond once you have your invoice notice, and we will add items to your order on request. Only about 20 pre-orders...so this will go pretty smoothly.
This is for the full kit! So you get both sets of tracks, and both turrets. But you only have the parts to make one compete model in the kit.
For everyone that wants to refinish their spare turret with a full set of parts - (I assume everyone) I will have those available in a few weeks. So after this first LAF announced shipment this is what will happen this summer:
Company B will offer the E50M as two separate kits. With the Standard turret as kit one, and with the rerouted drive and F turret as kit two. It will be about the same price $45 as this one time only combo kit.
Those that want to finish off their spare turret, let me know and I will order the metal parts to finish it. It may delay your shipment by a week but for those overseas from Seattle, WA it's better to get those in the same box and not worry about additional shipping. The price for additional turret metals is $6
If you have not ordered one, and want one or want to get the metals for the spare turret, feel free to PM me here and I will note that on your order/pre-order
Thanks!
Brent

Excellent news!

Look what was waiting for me when I got home!

Invoices going out today via the web shop. remember, shipping overseas is a beast. So it's better if you want to add items from the shop if you've been eyeing them for awhile to help reduce overall shipping costs. Just respond to the invoice with items to add and we will amend it for you.
Regards!

Fantastic! I don't think I've ever looked forward to receiving a bill before!
-
I'd like to include a basic set of decals. Any suggestions? I'll need to send out the art tonight so I can ship everything together :o
-Brent
-
Maybe just sticking with any existing Tiger II style markings which you have/ generic German stuff would work. Unless someone's going for a post-WWII "German remnants fighting alongside the Allies against the Soviets" thing, in which case Bundeswehr might be useful, WWII era stuff should do. Otherwise you may want to go down the lines of Hydra stuff, but I'm not sure how many people here at least are doing that. ...But it'd be laugh. :)
-
I agree with Wymalla, a basic late war set would be fine, there were some pretty wacky ones, Balkankreuzes in yellow & blue, numbers in red & blue etc. Hollow white numbers plus the letters/symbols for HQ vehicles & the white outline Balkankreuz (with no black cross) would be good. If you've got access to the AK Interactive 1945 German Colours Camouflage Profile Guide there's pretty much all the options.
-
Just recieved the invoice, now I can add the novel sensation of being pleased to pay a bill to the one of being happy to be waiting for one o_o
-
Yeah, I also received mine (#D11) but I had sent an email in February to Company B saying that I was forfeiting the $10 from the pre-order. Can't afford getting caught by Customs again, specially on orders from the US :\
-
Can't afford getting caught by Customs again
Ouch, I hear you there, British C&E charge 20% & then the Post Office sticks another £8 on top for putting it on a shelf until you pick it up >:( Perhaps we can convince Rich H to start his own miniatures business lol
-
I'm seeing the offer for the extra metals for the turret, but is there an option for then adding the bits for another tank for that turret/ track set to go along with?
-
Ouch, I hear you there, British C&E charge 20% & then the Post Office sticks another £8 on top for putting it on a shelf until you pick it up >:( Perhaps we can convince Rich H to start his own miniatures business lol
Yeah, an European company doing paper panzers would be great.
Here in Portugal we don't know how much we'll pay until we receive the actual parcel at home. First you receive a nice Customs form at home saying that they have stopped the parcel at their services and that we need to send them the receipt for it. After all the paperwork is sent, we need to wait for several weeks until - without any warning whatsoever - the postman brings you the parcel and collects the random amount Customs decided. At least you only pay the post office for the storage space if it exceeds 1 month there.
In these past months I've paid a lot of Customs fees because I received several parcels from US Kickstarters. And when that happens, they put you in a special list and all your parcels from outside the EU get stopped, even those that are marked as gifts. I guess the assume you are rich or a smuggler :\
-
man all u lot have shit customs, I thought ours was bad for charging us when its over NZ$400. Guess i wont complain again....
-
For anyone that needs it, I'm happy to include an invoice in the package for $10 US, showing this as a sample for review, and adding that to the customs form as well. I will be shipping these myself, so I can also use my personal address and a non business label. I can also send you a $10 receipt from those that pre-ordered.
We've never been able to collect on lost packages overseas anyway...so there is no need to send out an actual value for the kit.
If you think your post service is bad... If someone overseas orders a set of $3 vickers guns from the shop (or even just wants one gun), it costs $12.50 to ship it. The US post got rid of all their small item rates, and now $12.50 is the minimum amount, unless the item is flat like a decal sheet, or can fit in a 4mm thick envelope.
If anyone just wants parts..let me know. I am going to come out with a few more variants, so your extra tracks could find a home on a new hull this summer :D I only had 30 kits in the first batch, so spares are hard to come by right now.
-
Great Escape games in the UK carries the CompanyB lineup. So, if there is enough interest..I can probably stock them with this later this summer. I can probably also set up some sort of deal to use them as the European outlet on future "big" LAF projects like this.
FYI, the E50 Jagdpanzer is next. Then a flak turret as well as the radar turret.
-Brent
-
I had no idea that the Portugese customs & excise had been founded by Kafka :o (& once our infallible political overlords complete their glorious task of turning back time I don't doubt the good people of the former UK can look forward to similar levels of arse-ache.)
Good point about Great Escape Games - if they'll carry them I'll certainly buy them.
-
Managed to paint one up last night. Still needs final weathering and detailing. I do have an F version all built, so hopefully I'll have both painted samples finished this week.
