In this thread I'm going to share with you various miniatures, terrain etc. I've prepared for Frostgrave. I hope you like it. Please, feel free to comment the content or ask any questions. :-)
We will start with this what drives all of us to Frostgrave - the loot! I always considered official loot markers as poor. Come one, one ring, one dagger? Would your RPG character from your teens ever bend to grab it? OK, he/she would because he/she was greedy, but still he/she would very reluctantly. ;-)
Anyway, I've made seven loot tokens. Three on 50mm bases (tokens 1-3) and four on 40mm bases (tokens 4-7). Those are resin pieces from Cursed Fantasy Treasure Terrains kit by Ristul's Extraordinary Market.

Now, that's we call loot, right? ;-)

Nice looking loot.
-
Great painting!
-
I like them a lot! 8)
-
Great loot counters.
-
Terrific treasure tokens!
-
Thank you for the kind words. :-)
We will continue with the main protagonists in Frostgrave - the magic users.
At first, we have wizards from the famous company from Nottingham. I do not particularly like them. Of course, they are made of polystyrene, there is quite a bit of assembly options and some cool bits in the kit, but even though, in my opinion they are bland. They lack character.
Miniature/kit name: Empire Battle Wizards
Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Material: polystyrene (HIPS)

8) nice paintjobs
-
Agreed - great stuff.
-
Here we have two remaining human magic users I have painted. The first (and I like this model very much) counts as a Wizard in Frostgrave, whereas the second (also quite a nice model) counts as an Apprentice.

Those two look pretty sweet. I feel they're much better then the two GW Wizards above, where the dip looks a little odd to me.
-
Lovely work. That red bearded chap looks like he's about to let loose with a fireball any second now!
-
Awesome. Especially like mr. Beard 8)
-
Great looking treasure and magicians. I bet you will enjoy using them in many games to come. Thanks for sharing.

And here we have three more adventurers by Otherworld Miniatures - an archer, a bard, and a thief. While I generally like those sculpts, the problem with all Otherworld humans is their... size. The are huge! I mean, they are certainly not 28mm miniatures, but rather 32mm heroic scale miniatures. They dwarf almost every 28mm human and comparing them with proper 32mm miniatures the 'heroic' proportions of Otherworld minis are clearly visible. Oh, well... :-)

And now some more soldiers - Javelineers and Knights.
Miniature/kit name: Human Conscript [OOP]
Manufacturer: Wizards of the Coast (Chainmail Miniatures Game)
Material: metal
Notes: There is only one sculpt of the model and there are two identical miniatures in the blister/box.

Nice work on those minis :)
-
Agreed - great stuff! That spearman is a nice, simple mini.
-
Some very cool minis and great paint jobs! :)
-
Wow! Nice work. More please.

Some doggies. Those are bulldogs from Mantic's Dwarf Ironclad Regiment.

Thanks for all the comments guys. It really gives me the motivation to work further! :-)
We carry on with some demons I've prepared so far - Imps and Minor Demon.
Miniature/kit name: Ice Gamin [1st edition; OOP]
Manufacturer: Wyrd Games
Material: metal
Notes: Those are two models out of three in the complete kit. The kit I've bought was missing one model.

Excellent thread here Voyager!
I love seeing different manufacturer's minis visiting Felstad.
Your painting style is really nice, gritty but still very colorful.
-
Very nice!
-
My take on Fire-Flingers and Small Construct.
Miniature/kit name: Dwarf War Automatons and Controller (02-041)
Manufacturer: Ral Partha Europe
Material: metal
Notes: The kit contains 5 identical automaton figures and one dwarf controller figure. I've converted 4 automatons by cutting their left hands and putting scratch built "fire throwers" (made of polystyrene rods and profiles; supposed to be simple, quick, and easy to replicate conversion). The 5th automaton remained unchanged (see below). The dwarf feed the vast "to be sometime done" collection.

What a bunch of elicit miniatures, thats why I love Frostgrave, you can use just about any fantasy, medivial model in the game, and as long as they are armed as per the soldier, everyone knows what their "class" is.
-
Love 'em :)
-
And so the Large Constructs.
Miniature/kit name: Lesser Obsidian Golem Regiment
Manufacturer: Mantic Games
Material: Mantic's restic (PVC)
Notes: Models are on 50mm bases.

Those are quite nice. I particularly like the one on the left.
-
Rrrrats! Eeew! ;-)
Miniature/kit name: Pack of Giant Rats (17025)
Manufacturer: Ral Partha Europe
Material: metal
Notes: There are eight rats in the kit, two each of four different models.

-
Wow! Those rats looks really awesome :)
-
Those look like good fun (in search of cheese)!
Nice job.
-
Thanks for all the feedback! :-)
And now some mushroom-men a.k.a. Violent Fungus.
Miniature/kit name: Mushroom Men (01-046)
Manufacturer: Ral Partha Europe
Material: metal
Notes: The kit consists of four miniatures of three different models.

Feeling noxious thirst... A Vampire! It's a really cool model. Having this classic feeling, without Gothic mumbo-jumbo.
Miniature/kit name: Acolyte Vampires (GH00005)
Manufacturer: West Wind Productions
Material: metal
Notes: It is one model from a four (different) models kit.

-
The vampire is crisp and clean so there are no distractions from the wonderful job you did on the skin. A fine looking looking and very classy. A Hammer film vibe.
-
My take on Alchemical Monstrosity... or anything that suits the model. :-)
Miniature/kit name: Abyssal Ravager [OOP]
Manufacturer: Wizards of the Coast (Chainmail Miniatures Game)
Material: metal
Notes: The model is on a 50mm base.

-
Some great miniatures and paintwork - nice work!
-
Nice model for the beast. There were a few nice looking models in the Chainmail range but your paintjob really gave that figure a new lease on life. The natural tones and unnatural features create a stunning contradiction.
-
A very cool looking tiger-man model that I just had to paint. I have no idea what should I use it for? A barbarian, a beastcrafter, some sort of enemy? I don't know yet, but I really like the sculpt. :-)
Miniature/kit name: Tigerian with Two-Handed Weapon
Manufacturer: Spellcrow
Material: metal
(http://i.imgur.com/e9fKLxG.jpg)
-
That is neat model and your paint came out really well. I would definitely use him as a barbarian.
-
Nice paint jobs.
-
Nice! Yeah, definitely a barbarian - maybe a gnoll barbarian?
-
Make a combat focused beastcrafter and start using this mini at higher levels.
-
I like that model! The paint job is great as well. Definitely a barbarian of some variety.
-
Thanks for the feedback guys. Indeed, I think the model works the best as a barbarian. However, I do have a human barbarian model in my painting pipeline already. Yet, you can never go wrong with more barbarians in your warband, can you? ;-)
I've been also thinking about beastcrafter warband consisting entirely of animal humanoids / were-animals. That would be neat - fantasy version of Doctor Dolittle. :-) Unfortunately, I've got way too much other things to build and paint (including other cool ideas for Frostgrave warbands), so this particular idea has to wait.
-
Great painting. I think I may need to do an order from RPE in the near future.
-
Some bones have arrived! Slowly building monsters for the Thaw of the Lich Lord campaign.
Here we have six Skeletons and four Armoured Skeletons. All come from the really cool GW Skeleton Warriors set.
The last miniature, the champion, will be used as Wraith Knight.
Miniature/kit name: Skeleton Warriors
Manufacturer: Games Workshop
Material: polystyrene (HIPS)
Notes: Six out of ten models.

Nice!
-
Well done - that's quite the load of bad guys!
-
It's time for a good guy... or at least a better guy. The barbarian! :-)
Very nice model, although a pain to clean and prepare, because it's a single piece miniature.
Miniature/kit name: Grimnor (HFH129)

And here's not-Ragnar model acting as a Captain. In my opinion, it's a fantastic sculpt - ordinary human, yet bald and evocative. He knows the business and you certainly don't want to mess with him. ;)

-
That's a really nice paintjob, especially the skin tones and hair - bravo!
-
Thanks for the kind words guys. It's a great motivation for further work.
-
A great mini and well painted.
