Dark Millennium Tech Support

Going to keep this separate from my all in one pot thread

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=93616.0

but

It all started with this guy

(http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2017/1/15/850402_sm-.jpg) (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/850402-.html)
“Dave the wandering tech support”

Then this guy

(http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc508/NateRugby/IMG_3468.jpg) (http://s1215.photobucket.com/user/NateRugby/media/IMG_3468.jpg.html)

(I bought him awhile ago but only finished him the end of last year. )

Just to think this enginseer was all we used to have in the way of ad mech minis from GW (servitors and tech marines don't count ;p ) and now theres an entire range of them.

The Shiney syndrome was too strong so i ended picking up a box of skitarii off of ebay and it stayed in the “treasure” hoard since (i like to think of my hoard like a dragon with gold but thats a story for another time :) )

The Girlfriend being incredibly awesome got me the start collecting mechanics box set for christmas and wanted me to do something with it aside from collect dust in the hoard. (i chose not to argue)
So here i am setting myself the task of getting the below pile finished by the end of April.

(found the Raging Heroes Tech Priestess in the hoard too)

With the help of mr “Two thin coats” of course

While I'm making them for hobby rather then gaming prospective I would like some suggestions on the load outs for the skitarii

I'm thinking of making a squad of 10 vanguard then 2 squads of 5 Rangers

but what should their load outs be??

Thanks for looking
Please drop a comment if you like what you see or have any feedback, I really appreciate it and it helps keep be motivated.

Mostly followed Duncan’s process but i used blue rather than glazes for the eyes and lamp. and kept the majority of the coat mephestion red.

Can't decide if i want to go with the GW mars texture paint for the base or just sand + like my other minis.

thanks for looking.

Nice I really must get some Adeptus Mechanicus for my 40K project some time lovely minis. Mind you as I'm still playing 4th edition 40K mine will need some retro fitting to get played with. Personally I think I prefer the sand to the texture paint from those photos (assuming the guy in the top photo is using the texture paint on his base)

Looking great. The strong red really ties all the figures together nicely :)

Thanks both really appreciate the kind comments.

Current Progress

Here’s everything i currently have assembled

(https://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2017/2/1/854339_sm-.jpg) (https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/854339-.html)

ill get some green stuff in the coat folds and spray the skitarii ready for painting.

Torsos, gun arms and legs separate as i find it easier to paint that way.

Think ill go with the usual sand n PVA method for the bases and I’m hoping to get at least 5 of the skitarii painted this month.

Thanks for looking.
