Another sculpt by Steve Barber for his Europe in Revolution range, this will come under the heading Italian States 1848-1849.
The sculpt represents a Piemontese Infantryman in early uniform, just the rear pocket flaps to finish.
-
Looking good. Nice clean sculpt.
-
Very spiffy
-
The next green is of a Parma Volunteer from The Skirmish at Pastrengo 1848
-
A new green of a Sardinian / pietmontese line officer , also the Pietmontese Infantryman is now avsilable email Steve Barber
-
Do you know if the sculptor is going to realise some models for the siege of Venezia in 1849?
IIRC there was a mix of Piedmont, Neapolitan,Ponticifial and Austrian deserters plus. Volunteers and Civic guards. I'm totally ignorant where to find models for that War in 28mm
-
These are really nice and it's very tempting to jump into this period.
-
There should be a Bersaglieri green shortly and I am just in the process of commissioning a Sardinian Guard and a couple of Pietmontese artillery crew. I am currently liaising with two fellow enthusiasts about jointly commissioning some Papal volunteers, so yes the siege of Venice is on the cards, in addtion The siege of Rome is under discussion. ANYONE can join us in the project!
-
What a temptation.
Do you have a website Or something? I rule a blog and since I'm Italian would be happy to offer some space to this project on it.
-
BTW did you considered Mirliton? They have some miniatures for Italian Indipendence Wars, the quality it's not excellent, but except some miniatures it's a passable range.

-
The only problem the Mirliton figures are predom designed for 1859, although I will be using the artillery pieces
-
The figures are by Steve Barber Models, they are currently not listed as he is still getting moulds made, they will ultimately be listed under The Europe In Revolution Range. The range is a commission range. To give you an idea how they look painted up, here is The Pietmontese Infantryman nearing completion
-
I have had a look at that range and it is very nice, some real interesting figures on there. :)

Already checked this brand? https://www.ciboslittledudes.com (https://www.ciboslittledudes.com)

Yes, nice figs limited to what I can use for 48/49 as they are designed for 1859, but have a load of their Sardinian Guard and Regina infantry
-
Lombard Bersaglieri based on an illustration in Ralph Weavers book on The Siege Of Rome 1849, is also suitable for some of the Bersaglieri units fighting in Northern Italy in 48
-
Piedmontese Horse Artillery Crewman, suggest using Field Pieces by Mirliton
-
One sculpt better than the other!
The Piedmontese artilleryman! :o Excellent detail!
-
A second artilleryman
-
Beautiful! Only the head seems oversized
-
I can see what you mean but I think it is the angle the fig was photographed, The head was taken from the other crewman as the shako is hard to reproduce each time. When I commission a fig, standard dollies are not used
-
Lovely looking miniature.
-
Here is a green for the Civic Guard of either Rome/Venice
-
Excellent looking miniature.
