Unlike the remake of Day of the Dead, which just got silly in places - zombies running on the ceiling like something out of aliens....  :-[

I remember seeing the Romero trilogy as it was back in the 1980s'. First "Night of" on video then "Dawn of " on video and finally "Day of " when it was released at the cinema around 85 -86?
I haven't seen the latest ones, not sure what they are called.
I enjoyed them at the time, looking at them now, they don't do alot for me. I am not really a Zombie fan, but did enjoy the "Dawn of" remake alot. Which I can't honestly say about many remakes I have seen over the years.  ;)

I love Night, Day and Land of the Dead, not seen the original Dawn for years and the narration is offputting in Diary, and I love the Dawn remake. Rec is one of the best zombie  movies IMHO. Return of the Living Dead is great, enjoyed RLD 2 when I last saw it years ago, but 3 and 4 are ropy. Also really like Shaun, The Undead, Versus and Fido. Good beer 'n' snack of your choice zombie flicks include Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, The Special Dead, Undead or Alive and Flight of the Living Dead. Also worth watching are Bio-Zombie and Feeding the Masses.

Not sure if I want to see it, apparently it's almost a frame for frame remake.

I recently bought the night of the living dead 3d remake, it's great because you get 4 3d glasses with it so you can watch with your friends. At first it's weird but the 3d effects work pretty well ;D

"Outpost" is a quasi zombie movie with a weird war II twist.

28 Days Later was on last night.

Zombies that can run faster thank you AND guns don't have much effect - aaaarrrghh.

Also - Alien Nation was also on (at the same time) so had to flick between the two.

The latter is great source for CoZo, Future Zone etc. - aliens living alongside humans, drug trading (and drug overdose turns aliens into humungous killing beasts).  Must be scenario there somewhere...

Good Gawd, I'm not the only one knows about the bomber scene from Heavy Metal here. The whole movie is awesome, though. I myself am a decent fan of Romero's movies, not too big on the Diary of the Dead one though (but the dynamite-toting guy was awesome lol). The DotD remake is a nice piece of work, though you are right. That one zombie was kinda really out of the norm for Zeds. Shawn of the Dead is also a great one. There's also plenty of other lesser known zombo-films out there, and my video rental place happens to have them all :o lol. Some are corny as hell, others way over-board, and others buried treasure. The Resident Evil movies, though interesting, are completely stupid and nothing like the games. You want something awesome? Play the games, there's way more cool to be found than in the movies, and it's the genuine article. Not some sleazy off-shoot based on the games. Though the animated one, Degeneration is a good one as far as faithfulness goes. Actually has the characters in it and makes sense. 28 Days later is a great film as well, and well, its sequel is great for the first little stretch in the movie then goes downhill real quick-like.

Also, I hear Romero's making another addition to his 'horde' (oh, pun ;D). Island of the Dead I believe it's to be called. Would be interesting if it tied in with the ending of the DotD-remake.

Return of the Living Dead zeds are what roam my table tops.  Runners and they can't be killed will pretty much make you think out of the box.

Always been with Simon Pegg on the old, 'slow zeds' idea but there is something about the Dawn remake that gets you because of the speed issue.

Looking forward to World War Z and Army of the Dead when done.

Watching 'My Name Is Bruce' last night I saw a movie poster for 'death of the dead'... but it's not a real film. Ah well, there was that one brief shining moment of hope...

I watched "Attack Girls' Swin Team Versus the Undead" last weekend and I can tell you it has everything:

- evil/maniac scientist
- zombies
- nudity
- blood and lot's of it
- schoolgirls
- love and betrayel
- and to top it of a story that combines everything flawlessly together...

Actually i thought the movie is too put it mildly not that interesting to follow (and athough I don't mind funtional nudity it sometimes almost felt as I was watching a porn flick). it could have been a good movie, but something in there just did not connect..

Then again, I don't know it it already was mentioned in this topic, "The Dead next door" is pure brilliance!!!  (I think Pil will agree on
that). Just do remember that it is a low budget moveie made by fans and be prepared to laugh.

Anybody see the Resident Evil CG movie that came out last year? I think the English title ended up being RE: Degeneration. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1174954/ THe first couple of reels are cool zed-busting action, but in the last third or so the wheel kind of come off and the plot goes off a cliff of impenetrable Japanese monster craziness. Worth a look for the first bit, IMO. The CG is really well done.

Also, I personally much prefer the remakes of both Night and Dawn (Savini and Snyder versions respectively). I have great respect for Romero's creation of the modern zombie genre, but I don't care for the endings of a lot of his movies.

I saw it and got really bored. The movie indeed started out nice, but as soon as they tried to put dialogues in there it went bad :P

Then again I do like the "normal" resident Evil movies, which a lot of people seem to dislike due to not being like the game....   For me though it nicely combines apocalyptic with zombies :D
