I dug up a lot of pictures I took together with my brother a few years ago in Dresden, and immediately thought of building something like this:

The latter one is (or was at that time) the backyard of a good friend of my brother :o
So, here is the first of my efforts:

There could still be done a lot of things, like painting the windows properly (or at all), a drain for the rain pipe, some vegetation... but I hope to have a garage building in the same style ready in time for Tactica next weekend, so time is short.
The parts were all done with plaster, doors and windows were done in polystyrene and then cast in resin. The brickwork is made from styrene strips, the cracks were then carved into the plaster. The completed wall segments were then cast in resin and mounted upon an MDF structure.
Comments, criticisms and suggestions welcome as always ;)

Meine Fresse!! :o I guess this is 28mm? Or rather 20? Amazing work. That should be perfectly usable for WWII...

Nice work, it would fit into almost any era WW2 and beyond. I would add some older signs, partially covered over. You could print out a WW2 era poster, faded and then white wash partially over it.

It is of course 28 mm, forgot to mention that. I don't have any WW2 minis, but will take a picture with some others as soon as the garage is finished. I hope to get this done tonight.
Some signs are definitely in order, and I'm currently working on a ventilation and some lamps which could be used either as street lights or to illuminate door areas or billboards. But I doubt that these will be ready by next weekend.

You have really caught the atmosphere in you photos.
Some very nice detail. Brick work is excellent.
Tell us more about the windows please. Every time I think about making buildings it is making loads of windows, that look good, that puts me off.

Gamer Mac, the doors and windows were made from polystyrene sheet. I used several sheets in different thicknesses, ranging from 0.3 to 1.5 mm. Once completed, I made a mold and cast them in resin. There are some more window designs not used in this building, but a few more are used in the garage which will be completed soon. I will probably make those available in my shop separately, too.
Tsune, yes the wall segments will be available. Just don't ask me when ;D Some time after Tactica, probably.

The separate windows are a good idea too. I am doing a museum now and suitable doors and windows ara difficult to do/buy.
I will order from you after Tactica I think ;)

Even more work to be done than with the office building, but it's starting to take shape.
I'll plan to use the garage front for a bigger warehouse, but that'll have to wait until after Tactica.

We have some backyards in Kiel that look exactly like that! What I like most about the paint job on the buildings ist the unusual colour You chose. That greenish-yellow hue looks fantastic, very unusual.
Oh, did I mention the superb execution on the buildings as a whole? The details? All from scratch?

have seen the models yesterday at the Tactica here in Hamburg - and in reality they look even better than the pics. Especially the roof looks great!

Took the weekend to build some terrain with my son. Here is what came of it (please bear with the loading time, my site seems to be rather sluggish at the moment (again >:():

Started on a third building, too. I used some insulation material called "Selitron" instead of MDF as interior structure, which so far I quite like.
Hitman, I used mainly four colours for the doors, Vallejo Model Color Stonewall Grey as base colour, drybrushed with VMC Pale Sand, washed very thinly with black. For the rust I use Parasite Brown, blended into the base color. Try to use vertical brush strokes to simulate the rust washing down. Last come dents and scratches, using two shades of red-brown. I painted two thin lines, the upper one in the darker shade, the lower one much lighter. That's basically it.

So far, we can only guess what kind of business the Hauptbüro belonged to. Any hints? Or is there a cunning scheme behind all this...?

Thank you very much. I will try it out on an old airplane hangar that I have sitting in the closet and wishing I knew how to paint it. I understand Grimm did one similar, so I'll try to find his website again for additional assistance.

That´s totally awesome - captures the feel perfectly. I´m currently doing an internship at BP´s Gelsenkirchen refinery plant, and the building my office is situated in was built in 1940, and apart from being far more tidy and well-kept, looks just like that...
... I just realise it doesn´t really look just like that, now that I´ve eliminated the rubble und untidyness - but the style is spot on.
