Hi all,
After painting these nearly a year ago, the Perry Twins only recently released their Danish Landwehr Troops. I am now able to show you some more detailed pictures of the figures I painted for them. Apart from the usual casting issues, they were a pleasure to paint. Very colourful troops and the darker red was a nice change to the more muted one I use for my British or the Blue for the French.
I hope you like them.

:-* :-* :-* Fantastic work as usual from you Sascha. Did you do something different with your white pants this time around, as I notice the shadows look different (in a very good way). Do tell...

No not really, just spend a bit more time on it making sure there were very smooth transitions ;)
I usually start to paint the white parts with Foundry's "Arctic Grey" triad, straight out of the pots without any intermediate mixes.
I apply now a glaze using a 1:1 mix of shade A & B (with a drop of Vallejo Glaze Medium - best stuff ever) over the trousers which will dull all stark transitions between the layers. Using a 1:2 mix of black and the A shade, I paint now the deepest shadows and also seams. I re-apply now a 1:1 mix of B & White as a intermediate highlight, followed by white on its own. As a final highlight I use GW White Scar (which is a bit brighter than Foundry's White) for the edges of all creases and seams.
Not the quickest process as I do sometimes repeat some steps again to smoothen the different transitions but it looks great at the end IMO ;-)
Well I hope the above makes some sense.
Kind regards
Sascha
