Great brush work :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Lon
-
Great brushwork if only I could paint like that...champion!
-
Just curious but how long do you spend painting a figure like this? It is an excellent paint job.

It's hard to say as I normally have a table full of stuff on the go and never stick with the same figure for more than a colour. At a guess I'd say between 1-2 hours.
-
Beautiful work! :-* :-*

Beautiful work! :-* :-*
Randy and Mila have stolen the words out of my fingers. ;)
I have this figure, very handsomely painted by a friend, but yours IS a stunner!
I will just say, mine is darker, as one would expect for the fiendishly diabolical Colonel skulking about in the shadows...

A 15mm Steampunk character from Rebel Minis. Yet another project for myself.
-
:o I couldn't paint her that well even if she was 40mm :'(
-
Prolly has one of those diabolical devices to enlarge, paint, then shrink. lol
She IS insanely handsome for 15mm.
Doug
-
Thanks for the comments. Here's another 15mm Steampunk character from Rebel Minis
-
Lovely work as usual :)
-
Won't see the store clerk til next week, but fancies hisself, and IS fancied, as a right proper painter of renown.
Those should give him a start. :o
Doug

Another 15mm from Rebel Miniatures

And another 15mm Steampunk character from Rebel Minis.
-
These are brilliant! :-*
-
Excellent work! ;)
-
Another 15mm Steampunk character from Rebel Minis, the last of the pack. Great fun to paint.
-
I have truly never seen 15mm painted like that with shade and highlight. Awesome.
-
A group shot of the Rebel Minis 15mm Steampunk character set.
-
Oh, my ... You are killing me, that is marvelous work! :o
I really have the knack for choosing colours!
The first mini is the usual 28mm, though?
-
Thanks.
Yes the first pic is 28mm :-)

A Lab Assistant from the Wolsung - Inventors Club faction by Micro Art Studio.
-
Lady Petronella Ellendeanne
-
Vibrant stuff!
Is it intentional that you leave the base edges less well covered by the final colour?
-
Whoahh, with Lady Petronella you have outdone yourself!
Incredible nice color mix expertly applied!
-
Is it intentional that you leave the base edges less well covered by the final colour?
If not, inspired accident; I've no doubt some might find off-putting, but I think the 'roughness' adds character.
Of course, after the shock with the 15mm work, I may just be stunned... lol

Are they OOP? I don't see them on the Meridian website.

No idea, I picked them up of ebay last year.

I have vague memories of a Kickstarter, I thought successful; may never have made it to 'production.'
If so, bit sad. I've been known to back on mere hope it will be available as needed, not just a 'one time.'
Doug
-
A couple more of the Meridian Divers.
-
Last of the VSF deep sea divers from Meridian, again with a different helmet design.
-
Great paintwork lovely looking figures...
-
AWESOME divers! :-*
-
Beautiful work. The faces on your 15mm figures make my 28mm ones look like they've been painted with a roller. Lovely stuff. I'd be interested in how you approach faces in general.
-
The helmets on the last couple you posted look suspiciously modern. They look to be based on the Kirby-Morgan bandmask I used to use back in a past life...
-
A Malifaux Resurrectionist Nurse from Wyrd
-
Now she looks like trouble!
Very nice. You have a lovely painting style.
-
Another Malifaux Resurrectionist Nurse.
-
I don't like these Malifaux minis, but your painting is ACE! ;)
-

Thanks! I never had a name for those. Of course, yours weren't bronze or brass, though 'skull fitting' is a bit hard to imagine in the time. Ah, suspension of disbelief is easier for some of us. ;)
And, of course, Deano works, and very well at that(!), with what he has.
I don't like these Malifaux minis, but your painting is ACE! ;)
I tend to avoid 'me too' responses, but I get to end them that way. ;D

Doug
Hi Doug, here is a pic of the Kirby Morgan, the design has changed little from the 1950s when it was introduced...the round brass "standard" diving helmet is still used in some parts of the world.
http://www.kirbymorgan.com/products/bandmasks/bandmask-28
It's called a bandmask because it is held to the head by the large rubber bands that clip around it's edge. It is basically just an airtight faceplate, not a full helmet.

-
Empire in Peril - Guard
-
Damn fine work! :-*
-
I thought they were, but I can't find them on the website either.
They are from the 2016 Kickstarter campaign. As the backers have not yet received all of their figures Unfeasibly are probably waiting until that is completed before they put them on sale.
-
Empire in Peril - Guardsman.
-
very nice
-
Lovely!
-
His look behind the glasses is really a genius paintjob!

Imposing!
-
Cracking!
Love his expression.
-
Only rarely pop by this board but those Rebel Minis are outstanding! I have them and they await paint and I will be stealing ideas from you with little hope of achieving what you've done - but worth some effort to try. Half as good would be pretty darn good. Now, why don't you crack on with a bunch more of Rebel Minis related packs so I can find additional inspiration! lol No, seriously. :D
-
Postage and customs charges have stopped me buying from the US nowadays, which is a shame because Rebel do make some great minis.
-
Frankenstein's Monster from Studio Minatures.
-
Belle is quite nice but Rowena is quite impressive. But that girl in the red corset and fishnet, is a superb paint job and her human alter ego can come visit me sometime! :D

Wonderful as always. Your faces are always so expressive.
-
Stephany Seagull from Micro Art Studio
-
That’s excellent. I am stealing that picture to remind myself, “this is how you should be doing draped fabric!”
I do wish that the whole goggles thing was a less used cliche for steampunk. Is it all the soot in the air they are protection for?! Without them there would be a lot of useful female figures that I could use for late Victorian games...
-
Empire of the Dead - Allan Quatermain from West Wind
-
Very characterful! Good job!
-
indeed.
what a treat to see all the paint-jobs on that last page.

We're actually painting the same group of Empire of the Dead figures at the moment but mine look awful compared to yours.
I did consider not posting my pics but think I'll continue so people can see how not to do it :?
