Title: Cthulhu mini gaming success
Post by: Cultist Steve on February 14, 2017, 03:05:14 PM
So for awhile now I was putting together a Cthulhu wargame using the old (but good)
Shock force/war engine rules. Mixed in a few new rules and spell cards!!

Finally got to test it out for the first time.
Success!
First game was a blast.
Yellow king cult vrs MiGo at an abandon Wild West town.
Game ended in a blood bath with yellow king
As winner.

Few Noted high lights:

1. Migo brain thief using "out of time" (Spell card) to banish the king for a turn buying the MiGo time to deal with the cultist.

2. The final battle. Yellow king vrs the MiGo Brain thief on the roof tops.
Migo using the "blessing of yog" (spell card) to raise a dead brain thief so
they can attack the king together with "Brain Surgery". Only to have the king live and
kill them both.

Special thanks to Richard Trockel for
Playing the first game with me.

Next time I'll try to take better pictures.
the human in the suit is a Mr. white (a Mr. Smith Clone). MiGo use them as
part of their MiGo controlled shadow government. :)

the photos dont show everyone
yellow king cult had:
the king in yellow
1 cultist riding a byhkee
2 squads of armed cultist

Migo had:
Three 4 man squads of MiGos
3 Mr. Whites (smiths).
2 MiGo Brain Thieves.

the cards are used for initiative.
Taken from savage world mini rules, in the future i plan to add a event table for scenarios when jokers are drawn.

First half the game Hybrids were killing everything in sight.
Cats of Ulthar moon jumped on to the table and Hybrids cut loose with their guns
dead cats everywhere.
tables turned when the dreamer destroyed a Monster truck of Cthulhu with well thrown Dream dagger.
rallying the cats, lady Shiba and General Meow, into action.
General Meow using astral projected Nine Life attacks to slow down the hybrids
and lady Shiba using her dream-self lion form to press the attack.

game ends in a Dreamland win.

highlights:
1. All State Athlete going total action movie. in one turn tackles one hybrid, wrestles another then shoots a third. Thats pretty sweet
2. Star Spawn, after casting Alien Magic, fly's to a roof top, thinking he's out of reach.
Lady Shiba says "F' that" summons a Byhkee (spell card) fly's to said rooftop. Plays "blood of the old ones" (spell card that up's your attacks)  shape changes to a lion and totally crushes the Star spawn.

great battle.
Got to play test some unique rules.
both armies are getting a little tweaking, but all in all very happy to see how they played.

Dark Young winning initiative though out the game either though spell cards or luck of draw
was able to press the attack on ghouls for a win.

highlight.
1. squad of ghouls on a building. Plays "warping of worlds", a spell card that moves a piece of terrain (and any models on it), going to the dark young side of the table a for rear attack.
