The start of another project, that being Battles 1848 during The First Italian War of Independence.
Today I preview work thst has commenced on the buildings required courtesy of Mike Connington

Congratulations for your research Shipka..the building looks, not only for the shape, but also for the colour..very Italian i would say even Northern/Venetian province ..did you scratchbuild them?

Unfort not my skills dont run to that, the row was built by a talented chap called Mike Connington, I did however supply the research photos, which were taken from a range of Northern Italian buildings

Out of curiosity, why is one of the figures sporting a white shako? Is that a rank distinction?

This is a very inspiring project, I love the story and heroism of the first war of unification in particular the siege of Rome, and it is great to it realised so wonderfully in miniature.

Now Geoff, all you need now is to marry up the artillerymen with the cannons.
