Off to the Darkest African coast once again. This time a Zanzibari force is dispatched to see off a coalition Ngoni-Masai raiding party moving down the mighty Rufiji river...

Those Masai shield's are quite spectacular, excellent.

I read the linked report, and then read two others, they are excellent. In a battle report I like to know what is happening and also why as well as it being colourful and inspiring, yours are all of these.

Thank you and yes they do! If you look in the Archive for February 2016 you can see how I did them and a few more snaps of the ever graceful Masai...lots of Masai love there...some of Copplestone's best IMHO.

That looks brilliant. I think I'm going to have to add a Maasai column to my 'Congo' forces.

Zanzibari artillery crew are from the Perry Egyptian Sudan Range - a perfect fit. A number of Egyptian figures from that range fit well with the Copplestone Infantry.

Yes Phil, my Masai will run as an African Kingdoms army as well. The King, Prince and War Chief all being suitable characters for them.

Congo actually is quite well suited IMO for small 'conventional' actions between low numbers of troops such as elements of Carl Peters expedition vs a Masai raiding party. Perhaps some scenarios need to be repurposed or a new one or two made up, but certainly doable.
