I have been working on a project for the battle of Vimy Ridge in 28mm. As it involves the entire Canadian CORPS, I thought I'd mix it up a bit and have entire brigades made up of models from different manufacturers. Now that my project is nearing completion and I have samples painted of (insofar as I know) every manufacturer of Great War British (late war) infantry (which I am of course using as Canadians), I thought I’d post some figure comparison pictures – because many miniature gamers are very concerned about such things. I’m not as concerned as others…
A few of the brigades are made up of figures that I've modelled and made moulds for and cast up myself. I have included them in the pictures just for fun - they are not commercially available.

Thanks for sharing !

Ditto!!!
Your blog was a great help as well. Do you have any plans to do something similar in re the French and Germans?

Great work.
It's great to see the same poses from the different ranges together.
-
Thanks guys!

No, sorry. I only happen to have figures from all these different manufacturers because I needed a LOT of British (Canadian) miniatures for my current project (The Canadian Corps attack of Vimy Ridge 9 April 1917). Most of the Germans I'm using are miniatures I made myself - with a few exptra things (like mortars and machineguns) from one or two other companies. I don't have any later war French at all.

It is interesting seeing the poses like that, in a way I would say they all go together and just represent the different heights of individuals. I remember seeing a late war photo of some German troops where one was 6 foot tall while his mates looked about 5 foot compared to him!

Thanks, this is a very valuable resource.

Agreed. A valuable resource presented in a useful way.

Agreed, thanks Tim, great comparison.

Thanks for posting this! I wish there were more comparisons like this.
