The second part of our retro D&D game is in April and we're playing X1 - Isle of Dread. I've taken liberties with the scenario and set it around a pirate cove.
Here are some early planning pics of the set up. No miniatures in this lot yet, but lots of terrain, over a 5 x 4 table including: Ainsty, Geboom, Dwavern Forge (there's a whole layout inside the fort too), Miniature Building Authority and PMC. The sailing ship in some other shots is converted from a megabloks toy, but I still need to do something with the sails - any tips on rigging most welcome!

-
Looking verrry nice, shipmate. ;)
-
Great looking table. It looks just splendid!! :-*
Must finish my Old West before starting on my Pirates....must stay strong....
-
Well Done! :o :o
Clear resin for the water?
Mac
-
It looks very very good ! :o
I love all the little details and of course the trees...palm-trees. Where do you got them from ? Or are they selfmade ?
-
Wow, that's a great table. I'm looking forward to see it full of swashbuckling minis.
-
Mac - yep clear resin for the water - although the boards at the front were made by TM Terrain, so I could be wrong.
Opa - Some of the Trees are from Grimm and the others I picked up a Salute last year and I'm ashamed to say I can't remember which trader.
Thanks for all the kind comments!

Inspiring! Truly inspiring! :o
Great job!

:-* Me like, me like so much I am almost monosyllabic lol
I think that a set up like that would make even the most miniature shy members of my roleplay group use miniatures - Might even get them to stay in one place for a time, as well. Instead of deciding to head off to the other side of the world to go to the beach as they have done in the past.
-
thats awsome.
-
Are the walls with the houses on top Dwarven Forge?
-
Wolf - yep the internal layout of the Fort is also DF. Excuse the mess in my loft!

Thanks for the info. A for the record, a cluttered loft is just the sign of genius at work.... and if I could convince my wife of that I'd be in a much better place!
-
Awesome Uti :-*
-
Very nice!
But it is not just a cove, it's a whole fortified town!
-
Great looking table Uti.
-
that is totally awesome! perfect? hmmmmm could be!
-
Yarrr..that be some sweet terrain...
Ahem. Excuse me. Forgot it wasn't "Talk like a Pirate" day. It is some very nice terrain indeed. I hope that I can get my gaming group up to the level of using terrain like that for its games.

The fort interior is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
