Title: Evil Dave's Epic Eldar - Army Shots
Post by: Evil Dave on March 29, 2017, 01:45:28 PM
Building these have been a background project of mine for the last couple of months. I had hoped to finish my Wrath of Kings army before starting a new project but I wasn't feeling it so here we are: Epic Craftworld Lugganath Eldar. I started out using my airbrush on these to get the feel for it. The undersides are Abaddon Black and the top Jokaero Orange. I wanted to use Troll Slayer Orange but that wasn't covering well enough so I put Jokaero down first. After Troll Slayer's down I'm going to hit it with a gloss coat and then try shading with Fuegan Orange. We'll see how that goes.

The bases were Zandri Dust, and dry brushes of Zamesi Desert, Tyrant Skull and Wrack White. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to differentiate the bigger rock piles.

In terms of what's left to build: Shining Spears, another 18 tanks, Wraithlords, Vampires, titans and a slew of Wave Serpents.

I put small magnets in 2 bases of each Aspects, as well as some Guardian and Wrathguard stands. The plan there is to do the same for Exarchs and Farseer characters.

Great collection of models there!

I think there's some Epic 40k, some Epic:A, some FW models, and... third party support weapons?

Anyway, I love Epic, so I'll be interested to see your progress on these. :)

I haven't played Epic for at least 20 years, although I have both an Eldar and a Dark Angels army...  :?

Will be interesting to see where this goes!

Thanks guys, I did some airbursh work on the Scorpions last night and plan to take the brush to them tonight.

@Major_Gilbear - Close, the Falcon hulls are third party as well.

I highlighted and shaded one of the Scorpions to completion this week to start to figure out how I'm going to paint these colors. I'm pretty happy with the blue-ish grey weapons and the canopy/gems but I'm not quite there on the orange and black. The orange was highlighting with Troll Slayer and Lugganath, I think I want to try those again though as the highlights aren't stark enough for me. Thoughts? Same for the black, that was Eshin Grey followed by Dawnstone.

The one panel I left orange is for a transfer I hope to print out. I finish it up once I lay that down.

Any other thoughts on improving the colors or adding accents?

I like the scheme and the paint job - very striking and very neat respectively. 8)

I do think that getting a bit more contrast across the colours would help the models look even better, but this can be tricky with small figures.

Generally, you can do more exaggerated recess shading and edge highlights, or you can do broader highlighting across the whole model.

On models like the Eldar, edge-highlighting all over can leave them looking a bit blocky. I therefore think that some broader highlights across the models would help to make them look a bit more three-dimensional, perhaps with only a few vary sparing sharp highlights here and there - sorta like you've done already with the main guns.

Those look lovely mate - I want to do a smaller Eldar force for 6mm, really good opportunity to do interesting colours, which you've certainly done. Love your orange and that warm grey on the weapons really pops. Top.

Thanks guys.

OK, take two on the highlights. I went back and re-edged the black with Eshin Grey followed by Fenrisian Grey, and widened the orange highlight of Firedragon Bright while completely edging with Lugganath Orange. Worse? Better? About the same? I think I'm going to try one more level of extreme highlight on each, just to see how it looks.

The other two Scorpions got their undersides finished up and are now glued to their bases (1/8" eyelets are great for this if anyone is curious). I also did the first highlight of the black on them. I'm going to be keeping the turrets separate from now on as it makes painting things a lot easier.

They look very nice - the grey/black is definitely more obvious. Maybe try adding a spot of white or ivory to the yellow-orange for some final highlights to make them stand out better?

Either way, they look really smart, well done! :D

Wonderful painting, the palette gives them a real "Don't lick me - I'm a poisonous frog" vibe. Which is a good thing.

They're going to look amazing en masse.

Amazing details you're adding in there.

I feel the Epic tickle at least once a year... I will forever be the game that I go back to.

I think the present version is quite strong, but it is also a bit limited because of the tournement scenario.

I added some Elf Flesh highlights to the orange, Blue Horror to the black and Elven Gray to the weapons, and I'm not convinced the photos show any of them… I've got a few hours tonight to paint, I'll see how I like them then and decide if I want to go further still. The other two tanks are progressing as well, I finished up everything on them except for their hulls and weapons. I'll start in on those tonight too.

Thanks guys.

I'm calling the Scorpions done, painting-wise. I hit them with one more highlight on each color and finished up the other two tanks this past week. If I have time this weekend I hope to hit them with a glosscote so I can put the transfers on, and then dullcote them and put the tufts on the bases. Next up are the Cobras, which I'm starting on tonight.

Lovely work on those Scorpions, well done. :)

As for the BFG Cruiser... I always like the Studio green and white actually, but I've seen some in blue-greys that looked very nice too. And of course, the official game box art in red, white, and gold is very striking indeed!

Thanks, Cobras got their undersides finished and they're now mounted on the bases and getting the black worked on.

A poster on TacComms said the BFG box art is supposed to be Battlefleet Armageddon (ironic?). I've seen a couple of paint jobs with it being a yellowish brown hull, but I think an actual gold would be much snazzier.

I think a bright gold hull might be a bit too much, but if you gave it enough shading and added details in white over it (maybe with very light turquoise lights?), it could look very good. Perhaps they could be the colours for Battlefleet Sol?

Thanks guys.

I finished up the black on the Cobras this week and started on the gray, there's just a highlight or two left for that. I'll likely get to that this weekend, and may be able to do the jeweling too so I can clean up and start in on the orange next week.

(https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2825/34278388556_9d58f97875.jpg) (https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2825/34278388556_76b07b9f01_o.jpg)

Additionally, my buddy Jon helped me out with some additional Warlocks. I now have enough for three Ulthwé guardian formations.

Finally, I tried out my new idea for basing characters with these Saim-Hann Farseers. The magnet I set into the base works well enough with a pin head glued to the underside of the figure. I'll likely start doing all my characters like this, unless they require extensive conversions (like an Oddboy).

I made some good progress on the Cobras. The weapons, gems and engines are all done plus I was able to wash and get the first highlight done too. All that's left are the edge and point highlights, and any touch up. If I don't get to that this weekend then it'll be next Tuesday. After that, Storm Serpents!

Thanks Garanhir.

Slower going than I had hoped on the Storm Serpents. Two orange highlights are done though and I just have the corner and point highlights left to go. I'll hopefully finish those up Wednesday. Tonight, I'd like to get the Void Spinners ready for paint at my airbrush station, and while I got it out maybe some of the aircraft and Falcon-hulled tanks.

Here's a shot of the Webway Portal (a.k.a. the Storm Serpent's nether regions). I just went with a bone like paint scheme.

The Storm Serpents got their final two orange highlights last week along with some base touch up. They're now in the gloss and decal queue along with the Scorpions and Cobras.

The Void Spinners got their undersides take care of last night, I then glued them to their bases and started the black. I broke the turrets off to take care of their undersides, I need to clean up the mounting holes before I can glue them back on though. I wasn't a fan of the casting quality on the Night Spinner Arrays, so I'm coming up with a better option. That might take some time to resolve though. The good news is I think I can paint them separately and just glue them in later without too much fuss.

Those are some painfully well painted tanks, did you say that you painted the undersides? Gadzooks man!

Will they be getting some infantry to tumble out of those portals?

Thanks. They're just black, I didn't bother with a highlight as they're only 5mm from the ground.

Infantry at somepoint, I've got plenty of them too.

Great updates here - the fact the white is 'cold' really makes it look good against the orange. The Epic Eldar range was so good.

Thanks guys.

I meant to take these before our annual tournament but that didn't happen. Then I took the pictures and didn't post them for another week, so here we are! Work slowed on the Void Spinners so that I  could base up my Falcon-hulled tanks, I managed to finish the black and do the cockpits and gems on the Spinners though.

These were my distraction, I did their undersides and glued them all to their bases. They're ready to paint at this point.

Thanks. I've got some painting night tonight. The Void Spinners just need 2 more highlights so I brought the Firestorms for after that.

The Void Spinners had the last of their paint put down last night. I still need to get around to the gun barrel conversions, once they're all set painting those shouldn't take more than an hour or two. After that, they'll be in the varnish and decal queue with the rest of the super-heavies.

That means I'm on to the Falcon hulls, first up are the Firestorms. The engines on these are slightly more exposed so I might do an extra bit of highlight on them. Not sure yet, as I don't want to detract from the orange/blue/black. Thoughts?

I was wondering why I was getting so much of a shadow on these as I was taking a picture. I realized afterwords that I only had one of my desk lamps on. Anyway, the Firestorms progress. The black is done, next week I hope to tackle the blue on the guns and maybe the gems. The recess lines are slightly less defined than the superheavies, so getting the highlights is slightly more difficult. That was compounded by the heat and lots fans that have been running in the local store where I paint this past week. The paint was drying on my brush before I got it to the model.

Thanks guys.

I misplaced my camera for a bit but we're back. Not as much progress as I would have hoped in three weeks, but I've been working on some terrain for a new store in my area and also playing some Epic once a week too. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of the terrain soon. The gems and weapons are now finished up on the Firestorms. I also did the first highlight on the orange. Three more highlights and they'll be good for the clear coat queue.

I also started on this guy. The repositioning is set (striking his best Captain Morgan pose), I just need to go back and putty the joints I cut. The wings I'll put on after things are painted as it be too tight otherwise. Also, the weapons are magnetized using 1/16" diameter magnets.

I made two sets of eight hills for a local store, all they need at this point is some paint to help them match their tables (desert and grey wastes). They're made out of 1" insulation foam glued to tempered hardboard bases with some construction adhesive. I used a foam cutter to put some surface detail on their faces and covered everything with scenic dope (qt of latex paint, 2 latex caulk tubs and a cup of joint compound) for durability before pressing in the sand and spraying them with glue.

(https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4390/36251257650_9eb75082a2_z.jpg) (https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4390/36251257650_ef583365e4_o.jpg)

There's four bigger (18x12"-ish) and four smaller (12x6"-ish) pieces per set. They were cut out of 2x2' panels, I used the right angle corners so they join up easy and made them geomorphic. By that I mean the bigger pieces can be joined together and the same with the smaller. Also, the short edge on the bigger pieces match up with the longer edges on the smaller pieces. They can also be stacked, so there's lots of ways that you can put them together.

(https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4364/36251257580_3a473221d1_z.jpg) (https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4364/36251257580_f73651b2b7_o.jpg)

I was also able to cut six bases of scatter terrain per set out of the left over hardboard. No pics of those yet, I'll likely put a few rocks and some brush on them and make trees or something on smaller bases that can be moved around the area and not get in the way of the miniatures.

(https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4345/36251257420_b8b0378009_z.jpg) (https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4345/36251257420_46b335d4e5_o.jpg)

They were pretty cheap, price-wise. You can make four sets (32 hills, 24 scatter terrain pieces) for some $50, not including paint. They just take some time to put together.

I was going to start in on my aircraft but I realized a painted army is within striking distance for Fall In, so I switched gears and got most of the way through my Farseer character upgrades. I need to add a highlight to the rune armor and bases, then highlight the black and do the gems. Any thoughts on what I should do for their topknots? Right now I'm leaning towards the same blue as their weapons.

I finished up the Farseer characters this week and started in on the Wraithguard. I'm hoping to bring a mostly painted Iyanden army to Fall In in November.

These progressed slightly faster than I would have thought. The guns and bases are all done, I'm hoping to take care of the black helms and the gems on them next week. The orange might take longer given the amount of cleanup I'll have to do from the drybrush.

Last week I managed to finish the black and gems on the Wraithguard, this week I shaded and touched up the orange and finished the highlights on half of them. The other six I hope to finish tonight or next Tuesday. It's a good thing too, twelve stands was the limit for me. I enjoyed painting these far less than six tanks.

With these done I hope to convert up some Wraithguard, start on those, and paint some subset of my objectives, Avatar and Phoenix Bombers before Fall In the first weekend of November.

Thanks Jag. I hope to get one in the coming weeks, gotta get some decals on first and a dull coat on most of it though. There's a painting comp at my FLGS in late Oct, that's a good motivation to get it done.

And they're done. The last six stands took another two hours to highlight last night. They'll be fun to play with but I'm glad they're off the table. I started converting their big brothers after that, they, the Phoenix or objectives is what I'll be working on in these next weeks.

I also hit all the tanks I've painted to date with a gloss coat. I'm looking to print some decals out for them today, getting those on is another project before Fall In.

I gussied up the Eldar this week for a local store's painting competition. I got the decals on, black boxed them in, hit these guys with a few coats of dullcote and then added some grass tufts. This is six months of work to date, minus the Void Spinners which still need their guns and the treatment above. Hoping to start and finish the Wraithlords before Fall In still.

Thanks guys. I went back and tried to color adjust the pics a little better. Still not the best match, but better.

As I was finishing up my decal/dullcote/grass que I was also working on these guys. They involved a lot of cutting, pinning, plasticard and swearing at CA glue. All twelve had their arms and legs cut off. I pinned the legs after some creative bending and repositioning, and then puttied some ball and socket joints for the arms so they could be positioned any which way. The Bright Lances mounts were squares of plasticard that got some fancy cutting and filing.

(https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4464/37847097542_5817345696.jpg) (https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4464/37847097542_c9e959f7cc_o.jpg)

The Wraithseers were even more extensive. I used two 40k Space Marine knives a piece to create their staves and arm blades. As well as some Eldar grenades and strips of plasticard for the rest of the staves and loincloths.

This was one of my favorite conversions. I was trying to make it look like he's about to pound a vehicle or something.

It's been slow going due to some 1:1 scale projects, but I've made progress on the Wraithlords. Five are done, I've got another seven to do the orange highlights on and they'll be good as well.

It's been nearly a month since I picked up a paint brush what with Thanksgiving, vacation and newer hobbies but here we are. The Wraithlords are nearly finished. The biggest thing left are the Wraithseer blades, after that it's just touch up and basing. Hopefully I'll get to those before EpiComp entry closes at the end of the month.

I meant to get these out last week, but there was much celebrating to contend with. Anyway, here's the Epic I managed to paint in 2017. The Void Spinners were kept out as I still need to finish their array barrels. Looking at them now, I also want to go back and add one more black panel to the Scorpions and Cobras near the front of the tank. For 2018, I hope to continue with yet more orange. I may take some breaks for sanity's sake to paint other colors though. Thankfully, the aspect warriors will help with that. Well, not the Fire Dragons. They're jerks.

New year, same old color. This time on aircraft though! I started the Phoenix last night, and have been prettying the Avatar up for some paint. His sword got sharpened and he's based in such a way that I can plop him down on a Court of the Young King base when I get to it.

The Phoenix needed a bit of touch up after a failed attempt of actual flight from being left on the top of my car. One's still going to need a bit of putty and I'm going to have to figure out how to make a tail fin tip for another. Anyway, the black is done. On to the gems and weapons this week. Hopefully the orange the week after that.

Could you do some kind of press mould to fix the missing tail fin?

That's plan B. Plan A is getting a piece of similar thickness plasticard, carving it out and glueing it on. It's a small part of the fun, 2mm at most. Too small and unsupported for putty.

I finished up the weapons and cockpits and got halfway through touching up and shading the orange on the Phoenix. Hoping to finish that next week and move on to their highlights.

I was hoping to finish the Phoenix last night but with friends coming over for dinner tonight the "other domestic duties as assigned" clause in my relationship was activated. Maybe I'll get to them this Sunday or next Tuesday. Either way, I'm looking forward to being done with them. It's time for something else. I did manage to get the first highlight done on most of them. Two still need a little work.

I know it's time for something else because I've been wanting to work on something else. I did cheat a little bit and built a Phantom, as well as a Revenant. Their weapons are magnetised. The last Phantom is going to involve a bit more cutting in pinning as I'm hoping to put it in a running position.

The Phoenix are all finished up, I got the highlights done throughout the week and also did the engine exhaust. I added a little bit of blue and white edging on engines themselves, it's not overly noticeable though.

I magnetised the weapons in the Revenant, I need to convert up its Sonic Lances next and get going on the other three.

The second Phantom is mostly together now as well. I just need to add shoulders and finishing magnetising its weapons too.

I started on the objectives with the hopes of finishing them before Cold Wars next weekend. The Wraithgate is all painted up, the others need most of the bone paints still. After something Maashes Caisteal (http://maashes.blogspot.com/) said I spit up my three objectives into four. Now I can just swap out the Wraithgate when needed, rather than having to swap it with one of my opponents.

Yep, every time I see this thread I want to play epic.  Then I realize it'd be a large undertaking and nobody around here plays.  Shame.

Epic armies are pretty quick to put together and paint. They also are pretty forgiving of an initial spray in the main colour, wash and dry brush then basing. Giving you something playable pretty quickly. You can then go back to add detail - which is well worth doing. Then you can attempt to take things to the level Dave gets.

What Fred says is true, there's also Horizon Wars which I play a lot of - that works really well with 7-15 odd models, so much smaller 'scale' than Epic. It's more 'hard sci-fi' than Epic, but there's a few sets of fan rules etc that address that.

Anyway, moar orange Eldar!

Ya, I'll third fred's point. Washes and drybrushes take you pretty far in this scale. Basing too, once you base things it really creates a cohesive look.

Yep, every time I see this thread I want to play epic.  Then I realize it'd be a large undertaking and nobody around here plays.  Shame.

Well I could run a game for you if you want to try it some time. There just isn't a lot of interest in 6mm so I haven't pushed it. I figure when ever Adeptus Titanicus is released there will be more interest in Epic.

I finished these nearly three weeks ago now, but a lost memory card and card reader kept them from being posted. I stuck with bone colors for the wrathbone and warm greys for the rocks. The windows and globe looking things were a CdA violet color that I had never tried out.

I'd also like to complete some Falcons for the upcoming <abbr title="Northeast Epic Armageddon Tournament">NEAT</abbr>, I still need to convert turrets so I just started on the bodies.

I worked on Rangers too, painting orange on these is a real pain. I think for the Guardians I'm going to have to airbrush the orange and carefully drybrush the bases.

I took one stand nearly to completion, the weapons and cloaks need to be finished still.

Thanks guys.

Things have been quiet as I've been working on a Shadespire warband for a FLGS. They're almost done, I'll hopefully have pics next week. I've also been working on re-basing and (in a Epic related note at least) finishing up some odds and ends for my Squats. This guy is one of those, a Steel Hawk from the article in Citadel Journal 14.

I'm still thinking on the War Hawk and Land Train cars also in the article. Any thoughts for a Squat looking Void Shield generator?

Yay squats incoming!

I've got the same problem with the land train and i couldn't land on much better than the classic hoth shield generators in this case created as a couple of pairs of domed actual shields cut in half.

I did the black on a dozen more tank hulls, and started on most of the first highlight on all 18. These are going to be my Falcons, Fire Prisms and Night Spinners. I'm converting turrets for all of them, and looking to magnetize the Falcons and Fire Prisms.

(https://farm1.staticflickr.com/838/43401616581_7c39a28f0f_z.jpg) (https://farm1.staticflickr.com/838/43401616581_3d57265557_o.jpg)

The end goal here is a Saim-Hann army for Fall In!, it's a lot of painting and converting though so we'll see how I do.

Thanks. Ya, they should be useful and will save me from painting even more grav tanks.

Painting black always seems to take the longest, right up until I start painting orange... Anyway, first black highlight is done and the second has been started (outside edges and air intakes). Once I finish that I just have the corner and point highlights for it.

I finished the second highlight on the black this week but didn't get much more painting in beyond that. I'd like to finish the black next week and start on the Shuriken Catapults. While I'm painting them I'm also going to paint my newly converted Void Spinner barrels and finally get those finished up.

I'm hoping that the Vypers will get the fan treatment at somepoint, until that happens though I'll need a stand in. I cleaned, primed and basecoated these guys this week as well.

Ork Pole Dancing brigade, no gold star! They're for my Spears, hoping to spray their basecoat over the weekend.

The last time the Void Spinners saw paint was July of last year, and I've finally got arround to making and painting the barrels for them. I wasn't a fan of the lack of detail on the Specialist Games versions so I used some Forge World Night Spinner barrels instead. Thanks to the close-up there's some cleanup I have to do on a few of them still, but I hope to finish them up with the Shuriken Catapults on the Falcon hulls.

Speaking of, I finished the black and started on the blue weapons. Those should finish up next week, then it's on to the engines and cockpit glass. Then a whole lot of orange...

I haven't updated in awhile as I've been renovating our downstairs bathroom. As that's been wrapping up I've been getting some more time to paint 6mm stuff again. I've completed the cockpit glass, weapons and engines on the Falcon hulls. Now comes the long slog through the orange.

(https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1880/30930054918_dd965c2c71_z.jpg) (https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1880/30930054918_dfe7529405_o.jpg)

One hull got the first highlight. I edge highlight most of the tank, then go back and to the outside/higher edges with a lighter orange. After that I do the sharper corners lighter and finally put a dot of my lightest color right at the corner.

Nearly done with the orange, I just need to give the back row the last two highlights. After that it's rocks, base edges, gloss coat, decals, dullcote and grass. That should be doable over the weekend or early next week.

This is my Jetbike Autarch/Wild Rider Chief conversion. She'll have the same fins and pennants as well. I used a Banshee head and right arm, and made the axe head out of a Farseer's Singing Spear. Both of these will be getting some putty.

Finally, it was really nice to speed through some units after slogging through the 18 Falcons hulls for so long. I finished the black and weapons on my Vypers this week, as well as the decals. I hope to finish them the gems and orange next week.

Just the one, Fred. They magically duplicate on me, which is great because I'll need around 10 more, I think.

Also, I added a pole. What color should I paint the Wild Riders? Red, because they're Saim-Hann units on loan, or orange because they'll match the rest of my army.

I finished converting my Jetbike Farseer this week. I removed the Guardian's torso and right arm, and got the Farseer's torso in there as a replacement. I then puttied the robes around what was left of the body and used a staple as the base for the right arm. On that went the Farseer's right hand and spear, and I used a staple again as the haft of the spear.

I've been working on the Jetbikes for the last two weeks. Just the orange highlights are left at this point as well as the decals.

I didn't have these ready for Fall In!, but they're going to be getting some paint early next year I think, six custom Night Spinner turrets. I used most of the Forgeworld turret, just replacing the cockpit glass with some from fan-made proxies.

These didn't make it down to Fall In! either but I'm hoping to finish them before the end of the year and EpiComp. They're my Wild Riders, I decided to paint them up in Sunblitz Brotherhood colors.

Thanks Suber.

Aside from 18 Falcon hulls, this is what I managed to paint this past year Epic-wise.

(https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7828/45923696334_7497acc96f_z.jpg) (https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7828/45923696334_e044109fba_o.jpg)

Not a ton, but I had to remodel a bathroom, build a few Christmas presents, and I also built/re-based an Epic Squat army as well. Finishing the 18 Falcon hulls and the Wild Riders are at the top of my list for this year. After that, not sure. I could start on my Guardians or Aspect Warriors, paint some landsknechte (http://warmonger-miniatures.com/store/10mm-landsknechte/) for the store, or some Aeronef or Monsterpocalypse that I just picked up. We'll see.

The Wild Riders haven't been holding my attention so I switched gears and started on the Night Spinner turrets this past Tuesday. The cockpits and undersides are done while the orange got started. I've since finished that up and got the barrels glued on since this picture was taken.

Thanks Oshiro.

I took one of the turrets through to completion to see how I liked it. The Doomweaver was intended to be red that fades to bright orange, I'm not sure there's a whole lot a difference when compared to the hull orange though. Thoughts?

I ended up repainting it with a magenta, plenty of contrast now. Pics later this week.

I finished up the turrets on the Night Spinners last night. I ended up going with a magenta for the Doomweavers, and putting the glow more towards the middle/base. Annoyingly, I painted on my gloss coat which resulted in a yellow/brown tinge getting on them. I'm not sure if it was something in the brush or what but I have to clean up a few parts (it's most noticeable on the white highlights). I'll get to that in a bit and get some grass tufts on there as well, then I have to figure out Falcon turrets.

Thanks guys.

I haven't been painting as much lately, so these have taken much longer than I would have liked. They're basically ready for the decals at this point, so we'll see how long it takes me to get my act together on those. I was pretty happy with how the gem effect came out on the lance. Also, oddly, I used a light greenish khaki as a base for the lance haft and weapons but it definitely looks bone colored. It must be all the yellow.

(https://res.cloudinary.com/the-epic-gamer/image/upload/w_640/v1556205292/Watching%20Paint%20Dry%202019/IMG_0021.jpg) (https://res.cloudinary.com/the-epic-gamer/image/upload/v1556205292/Watching%20Paint%20Dry%202019/IMG_0021.jpg)

I am thinking the yellow banners are just too much yellow on them though. What I'll likely do is paint them red with a yellow Sunblitz symbol on them instead.

Thanks, I ended up just flopping the colors of the pennants.

I got the decals on the Sunblitz Brotherhood this week, and finished up the pennants as well. I'm not completely happy with them but I motivation to keep working on them is gone, so they're done. I hope to get them dullcoted and tufted this weekend, then it's on to the Falcon turrets.

Thanks warburten.

I finished the first of the six Falcon turrets last Friday right before <abbr>NEAT</abbr>. The next six are going to be magnetised so I can swap them out for Fire Prism turrets (haven't started on those yet though).

I also did some conversion work earlier this week on my Revenants. I did some leg swaps to add some pose variety and magnetized the weapons. I have some Vibrocannon arm conversions to work on and a bit of puttying to do before these see paint.

(https://res.cloudinary.com/the-epic-gamer/image/upload/w_640/v1561031963/Watching%20Paint%20Dry%202019/IMG_0034.jpg) (https://res.cloudinary.com/the-epic-gamer/image/upload/v1561031963/Watching%20Paint%20Dry%202019/IMG_0034.jpg)

Finally, I finished up the lances and gems on the Shining Spears last night, and put on their decals as well. They'll need a bit of touch up and bases edges before they get top coated.

Also the first time I've seen good pictures of those old revenants, they look great! I was planning to 3d print one of the modern humanoid ones but these are so cool! Would mean me needing to make a CAD model of them.  :?

I finished 6 or so of the color sections on the Aeronef ships but I need to get going on the last bits of Eldar for the Epic World Tournament in Scotland next month. So orange is back on the painting pallet. I got the black undersides and cockpits done. Next up is the little bit of black trim on the top, the weapons and the orange treatment.

Thanks guys.

I finished up the Void Spinners the other week and also went back and updated the rocks on some of the older bases to match my newer scheme. I'd still like to strengthen the black highlights on the super-heavies at some point but figured this was a good place to leave for the year. So here's just over 6,000 points of my Epic Craftworld Lugganath Eldar army. Still plenty left to do though (Aspects, Guardians, Wave Serpents and Titans being the bulk of it).

Thanks guys. I haven't felt much like painting since November, maybe I'll get to the Fire Prisms and some other stuff this year for it.

Hi Dave,

Out of curiosity - and because I rather like them, where did you get the rock formations from? Or are they home made & if so, any tips??

Cheers
