Oh no - a thrashing my way cometh! Lovely scene Dr... love Mrs. Peacock's dress.

Where's the inspector?

Dr Mathias-Cluedo around at yours just got better!

Hi Dr Mathias
Who makes the lady in the blue dress?
Thanks
-
That dress is special...!

You might be right, but that doesn't mean yours are not good, which they are not! Meaning of course they are not not good, and so they are indeed very good!

Greetings
Dr Mathias-Cluedo around at yours just got better!
HAA. I KNEW it. One glance at this scene and it just screamed *clue(do)* in my mind.
Wonderful
Jaganannath. I love the smily on the back of the last punk

Matt, the colors are simply gorgeous...especially the purples and yellows! Masterfully done!!

I feel your pain, having just suffered at the hands of the good Dr. ;)
A beautiful group of miniatures Matt. I was intending painting the same set later in the contest, but they will go back in the box now.
I would never have thought of painting the peacock eyes on the dress, and those socks really cut the mustard! 8)

If it will bring you any consolation Jagannath
My first though after seeing your punks was:
Hey, I played that video game in my youth, Its very arcade machine styled in posing and palette!! :)

Thanks - that does bring me some consolation actually, that's exactly the kind of project they're intended for!

Love the colours on the cyberpunks, but cannot help but say that Matt's scene is a bit special. Very simply but artfully staged, but the painting and choice of characters is really spot on. Particularly love the attitude of Colonel Mustard is his brilliantly executed Argyll socks, glaring down at his unruly hound lol
Just a wonderful scene.

Well done the cyberpunks, but "Arrival" sure did arrive with a bang! Just outstanding tones! :o

Thanks everyone. These were a lot of fun to paint. Every time I work on a Copplestone figure I think 'Why don't I paint these more often?'
Where's the inspector?
He's painted, just didn't seem to fit the narrative :)
Who makes the lady in the blue dress?
These are all figures from the "Cluedo Super Sleuth" game I snagged on eBay a few years ago.

I saw an excellent thread here on LAF a while back in which Orctrader posted his set, and I loved their look. Mark Copplestone is awesome at individualizing 28mm faces and poses. I actually didn't change much from Orctrader's scheme, because I wanted them to pretty much be dressed in the colors of their names- which doesn't leave a ton of options :) Here's his thread by the way, it's very informative:

Just be aware that these figures were never made to be painted- they are pewter game pieces with a specialty patina- and the casting quality is not great (it was just fine for what they were supposed to do). Lots of mold lines, pitting, flash, etc. and Peacock was the worst of the set- her face was almost nonexistent and needed some serious putty work.
EM-4 was perhaps going to release them again at some point, but I never did hear what came of it.
Great looking gang Jagannath, I love the colors you have going. They certainly have an arcade vibe! They'll be perfect for your 'Beat 'em Up' project :)
-
Matt, for me easily the best painted miniature set this round! :-*
-
Both are excellent.
I missed the references for both as well before I read the thread :) But both the Clue and the Nintendo-era Double Dragon are done excellently well! Both have very crisp and clean lines.
Jagannath, I think if you had some 32-bit boxes and a subway car staged in the shot it would have been a draw for sure! :) Dr. Mathias, excellent stuff.
Thanks

The Cyberpunks are excellent. Very unlucky to be matched with these.

Thanks for the praise :) I think yours are excellent.
Doug did make them available but on his other site - Moonraker Miniatures. I did actually offer the use of my photos but he has others up at the moment. ::)

I'm assuming these are "proper" castings now so should be easier to work with.

Oh! I didn't know that. Good news :) Thanks!
And... he should have used your pics!!!

Oppph! I seriously think Moonraker Miniatures needs to use one of you two talented guys pictures! :o

Of course! What an advance in quality that would be. But sometimes I think manufacturers don't want to sell their products by better promoting them. Don't know why ... o_o

Dr Mathias, splendid just splendid, and refreshing topic as well! :-*

Haha thanks - not sure on that, scenery aside the Dr's painting is Robert exquisite. That is the downside of using my LPL Entries to work on a new project.... no scenery to match!
-
Great scene by the good Dr.! The painting is absolutely top notch and all the detail is absolutely awesome. Those socks are priceless :-*
Well done on the Punks as well! They have a certain 80's vibe to them I actually quite like.

Amazing work!
