Victrix velites / veles: available separately?
« on: 25 June 2017, 06:45:23 PM »
Given Victrix's free postage deal this weekend, I've been looking at their ancient range. The velites / leves would have some conversion potential for later, e.g. "Marian" times, but seem to be bundled with the early Republican legionaries, for which I would have no current use. Are the Victrix velites / leves available separately?

Thanks!

The Velites aren't on separate sprues, 2 velite bodies on the command sprue and 2 on the troop sprue but it is a moot point as Victrix don't yet sell the Roman sprues individually.

Thanks! Would anybody here have comments on how well the Agema, now Warlord, velites compare with the Victrix ones?

Size wise the Agema ones mix well with Victrix but the posing is a little stiff and the combinations you can make are small.  I started off with Agema but quickly switched to Victrix and would not go back.  That said I have used a few Agema velite mixed in with my Victrix (roughly one in ten) but only because I had them and for a slightly different combination of bodies.

I would suggest asking on the Bazaar if anyone has some spare.  I might be able to help.

The Agema velites are very nice, (ignore my splattered on undercoat)

I think they mix in with Victrix okay, but I am not high up the intolerance scale... I have used Agema heads on Victrix bodies quite successfully.
