40mm Old West Shack

Greetings all.  I have been working for a good bit of time on my 40mm Old West project and I thought I would post my first painted piece.  I would appreciate feedback of course.  In particular I would be interest in thoughts on the desert base.  It’s flock from the terrain guy, which is starting to grow on me, but is a little brown.  I’m thinking of basing my town in southern Texas a few years after the civil war, so would this color of flock work for that?  This piece in particular is a small shack with a built-in market on the side. All parts other than the table lamp, the interior stove, and exterior stove pipe, the food bits, and barrels are homemade.  The piece is a mix of card and basswood.
