Dark Age Dust Up, 28mm - Devon Wargames Group
« on: 15 July 2017, 05:55:10 PM »
We had some Dark Ages fun going on at this month's meeting of the DWG using the Crusader rules.

If you would like to see how the game turned out, then just follow the link to the club blog.

It always looks great having such a bunch of forces on the table all painted up. Awesome stuff!

Great pictures! The Crusader rules don't seem to get much play- can tell us a bit about them?

Thanks for your comments chaps, glad you enjoyed the read.

Codsticker - Sorry I can't tell you much about the rules, I am just the chap that sorts out the reports. I have played them once, a long time ago and read them through several times. I seem to remeber they have an interesting play sequence where you go on bidding to activate units until you fail and then the turn passes to the other chap. I know I had fun with them and have a copy, so I must have enjoyed the game.

I'll see if I can direct one of the chaps involved to give you a bit more detail.

JJ

Codsticker - I have some more info re Crusader rules passed on by Nick who ran the game covered:

He has recommended the review which is in the link below

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/albatwo2/Review09.html

plus the link to the QRF gives a good feel for the play process

http://www.crusaderpublishing.com/documents/Crusader_Rules/CrusaderExampleofPlay.pdf

and the Crusader site gives links to errata and lists, showing what stuff is available

http://www.crusaderpublishing.com/crusader_rules.php

Hope that helps

JJ
